Before Minnesota's Senate campaign truly gets restarted, there's the matter of Rick Kahn to clear up. Kahn, described as Paul Wellstone's best friend, gave a speech at Tuesday night's memorial that has Republicans enraged and people of every political stripe shaking their heads.

The idea is such an emotional fantasy -- and so not in keeping with the actual Wellstone legacy -- that it could only have come from a person wracked with grief and pain.

Rush said it best yesterday, "They reached into the grave, snatched Wellstone's soul and ascribed it to themselves for their own petty, partisan purposes."

What happened had nothing to do with either Norm Coleman or Walter Mondale

But it has everything to do with what party you want in power. When I heard of them booing Trent Lott, I kept thinking of the Democratic debaucle in New York where they booed and spit on the Boy Scouts.

Coleman and Mondale owe Minnesotans a vigorous contest of ideas.

Right. How is this going to happen in the short amount of time left?

Kahn appeared so caught up in grief, loss and anger that he lost his way.
Either that or it was the grimmest-rankest-vilest expression of political necrophilia ever televised. I'm thinking the latter.

The newspaper is urging independents to abandon their initial revulsion of this event. I don't think they will.

My mother-in-law, the independent, said she's leaning toward registering as a Republican because of how the Democrats looked like animals the other night. This will hurt Democrats across the country.

I know the Dems did this in LA at their convention. What was the occasion in NY?

I haven't heard anything about death threats. When did this happen?

Mondale with ideas? Just go find the 1972 Dem platform and you've got his ideas. McGovern lives.

This was at the NY Primary Convention when they nominated Hillary, if I remember correctly. They spit on the color guard. I am pretty sure it was the boy scouts, but maybe I am mixing up two memories. I don't think so, though.

Maybe it wasn't the boy scouts in NY, I think it was the police. It was after that incident that the man was shot 42 times, and you know the cop hating contigent of the NY Democratic party. That may be what I am recalling.

Sadly, you are bringing back memories of the campaign of that witch who won in NY. Yes, you are right it was police in NY, boy scouts in LA, and any Republican in Minnesota the other night. They cannot know honor because they know no shame.
