Sis, you couldn't believe how bad it was. I'm glad Ventura and Lott walked out. It was disgusting beyond belief. I feel sorry for the families of the other people who died. There were two pilots and a couple of campaign workers. I mean . . . it was like all the deaths and tragedy didn't matter. I just sat there in shock and couldn't stand it anymore; changed the channel. I hope the democrats suffer the consequences on November 5th. They deserve it. For victory & freedom!!!

The part in the Memorial Service where Wellstones curly headed son was screaming "We will win" and the crowd was screaming with him was chilling. OMG I hope he never runs for office.
Yes! It gave me the willies, and I was just listening to a clip on Rush's show.

This looks to be a backfiring PR disaster for the Demmycrats if even the liberal networks have no choice but to report negatively on this. Then it must have been Daschle's idea. Backfiring PR disasters have been his speciality as of late -- and I say, let him continue. We wouldn't want to stop a man who's found his calling.

Remember, if Talent wins in Missouri, he takes office immediately, so couple that with Ventura's independent nominee, and we don't even need Cheney's tie-breaker. That's critical because it would take two more Jumpin' Jims to keep the Dems in charge for the lame-duck session. Of course, they'd still have the filibuster.

I swear that curly-headed Well-stoned son is the spitting image of Chelsea Clinton before her first cup of coffee in the morning.

Dan Rather was his usual pathetic self, even as he mildly criticized the dems. First, he led off his newscast not solely with the Minnesota story, but instead with a general view of how political campaigns had become SOOOOO negative. The first example Rather gave wasn't Minnesota, but Georgia. Rather then introduced a story that ripped Republican Saxby Chambliss up one side and down the other for allegedly questioning Cleland's patriotism.
The only problem with the CBS report is that Chambliss has gone out of his way NOT to question Cleland's patriotism. Chambliss has merely expressed differences with Cleland's voting record on national security issues. CBS repeatedly documented the number of limbs Cleland lost in his wartime service. Looks like Rather is still trying to edge out Walter Cronkite for the title of All-Time Biggest Liberal Partisan Hack on the Evening News.

As we all ponder how low the RATS will go in Minnesota, we must also pose the question, "How low will Dan Rather go to help the RATS."
Even though I was prepared for his usual liberal bias and tone, I still couldn't believe my ears when he criticized Norm Coleman for his use of a small plane in the final days of the campaign.
I suppose if Coleman had decided to tour the state by bus,
Rather would've blasted him for trying to copy Wellstone's famous green bus tours.
How the hell does Dan Rather expect Coleman to get around in a state as big as Minnesota in a campaign that is only 5 or 6 days long?????

The Republicans, imo, are doing exactly the RIGHT thing here. They need to take a low profile. If they criticized at all....overtly criticized....THEIR comments would become the story. The PEOPLE are driving this story...which is just fine. The major players in the GOP have made their view known....Lott walking out for example....now they just need to stay out of the way of the story, Quite astute. Sometimes ya just gotta give'm enough rope.

Great(and so totally true)joke!!....(I'm gonna get a sore
throat by repeating it so many times between now and Tuesday...giving you the credit of course!!)
Thanks!!
To: IowaHawk
Hawk, that's unfair to the Rally Monkey, don't you think? [grin]
Jesse Ventura walked out of the memorial. Think about that...a memorial service so loud, tasteless and overdone that a pro wrestler refused to sit through it.
To: LiveFreeOrDie2001
>>Jesse Ventura (Mn Gov) just said he will appoint "A REGULAR CITIZEN to the remaining time on Wellstone's seat !!!!!
Good idea except it's 50-50 we'd get a Dem. But the concept underscores how over-the-top the Dems were. Governing needs to be by the citizens. The best & brightest - and not the communists.
To: RadicalRik
Precisely why the margin must be 2 or more. Which it very well may be. We have the POSSIBILITY of +4 or -4. If the latter, there will be no policy change whatsoever. But if the former . . .

Think about that...a memorial service so loud, tasteless and overdone that a pro wrestler refused to sit through it. Great metaphor. A memorial service so tasteless that it comes off like a WWF screaming match. You know, where the wrestlers get on camera and screech about what their greivances and what they are going to do to each other.

But the thing with Jesse is the same problem I have with ALL "independents/Libertarians." If you are REALLY disgusted by the Dems, you would show it by immediately appointing a REPUBLICAN---not an "independent," which only continues to reward them.
Until indies, reformies, and Libertarians see that if you are not actively opposing the Dems you are with them, there will be no progress. This was the same disgraceful "out" that Buchanan took in the FLA 2000 election: he should have sued for every one of those votes and insisted they were his, whether he "thought" they were or not.
I'm all for a debate and for campaigns between the Libertarians and Republicans. There are issues we can debate. But as long as the Dems are out there, sucking up that 40% of the vote, we will never debate them in a meaningful way, or be able to vote on them.

I heard this "apology," but like all DEM hit pieces, the "apology" never comes close to making up for the damage done by the original act.

That was EXACTLY the image that came to my mind as that little snot shouted "We Will Win." It was almost like the aftermath of the Reichstag fire. "We will win. Seig Heil!"
