Davis: Allegations a 'desperate' act

He won't discuss claims by attorneys for an ex-coastal commissioner.

OAKLAND -- Gov. Gray Davis, responding to newly released letters that claim he and a disgraced former California coastal commissioner discussed soliciting contributions from developers seeking state approval to build along the coast, Tuesday dismissed the allegations as groundless.

The governor responded with a joke when he was asked if he had ever "dined" at Nate 'n Al's, a well-known Beverly Hills restaurant where Nathanson alleged the two would meet to discuss those who had business before the commission so Davis could then seek campaign funds from them.

"If you've ever been to Nate 'n Al's," Davis said, "you wouldn't call it 'dine.' "

Well, there's a few more votes for somebody besides Davi$. This is the respect he shows the citizens and hard-working people of California. What an a**hole!

Now THAT'S what I call JUDICIAL ACTIVISM!!!

This is the guy, (I can't call him an honest broker, let alone a judge) the local enviralists run to everytime they want to stop a road being improved in the forest, etc.
