What's the security at FEDEX? Do packages get x-rayed? This doesn't make any sense. The only other "benign" thing that causes explosions like that is any kind of dust or powder under certain conditions (grain elevator explosions from grain dust).

Fedex does not carry explosives or hazardous items, except when criminals lie to them. This will be traced back to the source. Unlike the Postal Service, Fedex knows who shipped everything.
