What good would regaining the Majority do for a bunch of clowns who are clearly much more comfortable with Minority status?
How can you call Trent Lott a "leader: when he is so clearly a spineless jellyfish?
But there I go, offending jellyfish everywhere...

Republicans should dump Trent Lott as Senate leader.

Great editorial.
Even if the GOP doesn't reclaim majority control of the Senate, they absolutely, positively should dump Lott from ANY leadership position.

Lott & his entire merry band of eunuchs should be ousted from the positions of leadership regardless of the results of the election - thanks to him, Republican Leadership is just another oxymoron.
To: Willie Green
Sounds like a plan. Lott should have been dumped long ago.

IT'S 7 DAYS UNTIL THE ELECTION. WILL IT STILL BE HER SENATE?
GOOD INTENTIONS DON'T WIN ELECTIONS.
ACTION DOES. ACT TODAY.

They can dump Lott as Majority Leader or dump him as Minority Leader. Lott has lead the GOP into the minority, that usually results in getting a different job.

What can we do at FR to get the word out to DUMP CAVEMAN LOTT? What is wrong with the GOP Senators that they would line up behind him?? Any ideas out there?

I have it on good authority from a former close Lott staffer that he lost his fire for the job when his very close friend Paul Coverdell died. He told me he has never been the same. I agree it is time for Lott to step aside, we need a strong leader.

This is premature. Nobody is going to challenge Lott's leadership until the Republicans regain the Senate (a medium-sized 'IF' at this point). It would look bad for Nickels to break ranks during the campaign.
Besides, nobody shows disloyalty until they think that they have the votes nailed down within the caucus.

It would be far easier to regain the majority if Lott wasn't involved.
