People who win these sort of bets often bet on thousands of combinations of horses for the same race. His real ROI may not be as high as it seems.

But he was probably done in by the longshot in the last race. I'm not sure what the payout would have if a top choice had won, but under 10K, I don't think having multiple tickets would have drawn much attention.

For the Pick-6, you have to make all your selections before the first of the six races is run.
