The world wouldn't have come to an end if the US Attorney would have waited one more week. It was very stupid and hindsighted for them to do what they did. This was a 6-month, 24-week investigation, one more week wouldn't have mattered. As a matter of fact the investigation is continuing on this man and others.

If standard procedure dictates an arrest at this point in the investigation, that's exactly what should happen. If we found that Bill Clinton instructed Janet Reno to withhold the results of an ongoing investigation so as to benefit the Dems, we'd all be irate. And rightly so.

It cannot be any different when we're talking about the GOP's actions.

It was a very bad political move.

I'm surprised you said this. I guess you've been asleep for the past 10 yrs. Janet Reno stonewalled and manipulated doezens of investigations. This isn't a perfect world and once you become involved in politicts you will find out what "really" goes on.

Treffenger is back to work at his job as Essex County Executive. As I said, no big deal, terrible timing. One of these days the republicans will learn how to win elections.

Now when an uninformed voter goes to vote, he will remember Senate candidate Republican Treffenger getting arrested and then go in and vote for Lautenberg.
