Two hijackers of the Russian plane in Saudi Arabia who have been shown on television are Supian Arsayev, brother of a former Chechen minister, Aslanbek Arsayev, and Supian's son, according to AFP's Chechnya correspondent.

A Chechen source earlier told AFP Friday that the chief hijacker was Aslanbek Arsayev, former minister for state security in the Chechen government.

Russian ministry denies plane hijacking

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian emergency officials have dismissed a report that a Russian aircraft had been hijacked from Moscow to Perm in the Urals.

"The information of the hijacking has turned out to be untrue," a spokesman for the Emergencies Ministry said by telephone on Monday.

Itar-Tass news agency had earlier reported that the AN-24 passenger plane had been commandeered during the flight.

They're going to "force" Putin to make a "shoot in down" decision.

Saddam made a statement to Russia during the theatre stand-off about coming over to their side and stay away from joining the USA.

SKY News - RUSSIAN PLANE HIJACK DENIED

Russian officials have dismissed a state news agency report that a Russian aircraft had been hijacked.

The news agency had reported that the AN-24 passenger plane travelling from Moscow to the Urals had been taken over during the flight.

"The information of the hijacking has turned out to be untrue," an Emergencies Ministry spokesman said.
