President Bush headed to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico today to join the prime ministers, presidents and representatives of the 21 Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation nations during the APEC summit. Bush spoke to the media while he visited with Mexican President Vicente Fox, and reiterated that the US is prepared to strike Iraq on its own if the UN does not decide on a resolution. The President also addressed immigration issues by stating, "The long-term answer for the migration issue is to work in a way that encourages commerce on both sides of the border so people can find jobs here in Mexico, for starters. That's the long-term solution." Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I'm about 10 miles east of Frederick City on Rt. 70 about 20 miles from the Myersville Rest stop. I'm up high enough that I could see all the police lights from my house the night they captured the killers.

The playground of the rich and famous, and me once, who is neither!Did you live there at one time? I've always heard it's gorgeous.

Rintense, thanks for the Saturday Dose!! Our Dubya looks even more handsome and personable juxtaposed to the other world leaders -- we in the US are indeed blessed!!

POLL UPDATE:
As many of you may have noticed, Drudge is helping the DNC again by sensationalizing a marginal poll conducted by Time/CNN. I posted the following response to this poll on another thread:
"Drudge has become sooooooooo sensationalistic!! He publishes this poll as 'breaking news' when USA Today/CNN/Gallup completed a poll at virtually the same time with much milder results, e.g., it determined that President Bush's approval rating was 67% and voter preferences for Dems/Pubs were statistically tied!
FURTHER PERSPECTIVE:
At this point in their presidencies, Reagan and Clinton possessed approval ratings in the low 40s which correlated to BIG losses for their respective parties during mid-term elections. The fact that President Bush has approval ratings in the 60s bodes well for the Republicans this mid-term!! [Actually, the fact that President Bush still enjoys approval ratings in the 60s at this point in a VICIOUS Begala, Carville, Shrum-inspired ad hominem attack cycle speaks well for the President and the Pubs!!
We MUST get out the vote!!!!"

This may seem cryptic, but I hope we never have to invade Mexico again. I know they invade us every day, but there is nothing there we could use. Plus, it would probably become a welfare state...kinda like Massachusetts. Or like one of the Canadian provinces.

LOL! No, I won't make you drag it out of me!
He's home, and he's trying to figure out how to make his own decisions again! :o)
He's already checked in to his Reserve post here, so he can get squared away on how he gets transferred to Minnesota where he'll be going to college next semester.
He ended up getting the Disgtinguished Honor Graduate award (he was first in both classes which graduated) so he got to stand up there all by himself, and get recognized! Not proud......no sirree, not mr. ohio and me!
He's at a HS football game now, and has plans to get together with friends over the next few weeks while he's home.
I talked him into wearing his Class A uniform to church tomorrow.....the boy looks good in a uniform! :o)
I've told him 2 or 3 hundred times that I love him, and that I'm glad he's home, and among mr. ohio, his little sister (who just turned 16 today) and me, he's gotten at least that many hugs!
LIFE IS GOOD!!!!

Yes he did, Mike.
He was a mature 'boy' when he left 20 weeks ago, but he's definitely a man now......and a fine one at that!

It feels fantastic, McLynnan. He graduated from HS with a 4.0, and was Valedictorian, so we weren't surprised, but there's something about the determination he had from the beginning to do his best, and end up on top that is extraordinary.......even to the two people who God gave the privilege of raising him.

You and Mr. OWF are obviously very good at parenting, and the world will be a better place now that Eric is making his mark. I'm so glad he's home -- I know how much you missed him.
