Rose: For the Women-A Vote For Republicans is a Vote for Death! (Desperate Dem Barf-o-rama!)
Low Country Now-Low Country Morning News on the Web ^ | October 25, 2002 | John David Rose

Think About It John David Rose

After Bush's successful War Resolution vote in Congress, this November's congressional election has become a matter of life or death.

If Republicans win the Senate or gain seats in the House, the Bush administration will consider it a mandate to attack Iraq.

If the Democrats retain control of the Senate and either stay even or gain strength in the House, the Bush administration will be forced to slow or stop its rush to send Americans into battle. There will be time to think things through.

Thus, voting Republican means death. Not just the death of Saddam Hussein (if he is ever caught) but death for some of America's sons and daughters. Maybe your son, daughter or grandchild.

Think about that before you follow the family tradition or your husband's "suggestion" on how and who you vote for. A lot of someones, Americans and Iraqis, are going to die if American voters give the GOP control of the Senate.

Why is this column written "for the women"? Because women think differently about life and death than men. Men rush at life, defending turf, doing battle in the workplace and marketplace. Women carry and bear the children and nurture them through childhood. They hope for a long, peaceful life for themselves and their children. Men hope for a heroic or at least shameless death.

If the Democrats had their wish, the economy, jobs, corporate greed and irresponsibility and the rape of Social Security would be the main issues of this campaign and we could all vote our normal partisan ways. We could judge South Carolina candidates Lindsey Graham and his opponent Alex Sanders on their merits, qualifications and positions on the issues. But those considerations must be put aside because of the president's obsession with Hussein.

If, through your vote, you give President Bush permission to send your kids into battle where they will kill and be killed, he will do it.

Even if you and he are not 100 percent sure that's what he will do, can you take the chance?

You are told that Saddam is a threat to us all, that he has secretly developed the capacity to strike the United States with a nuclear or biological weapon. That's a far stretch from what little facts are known.

Yet even if that were true the odds of Americans dying by violent means are higher should the U.S. attack Iraq first than if Saddam finds a way to attack us first.

Saddam might attack. Bush will attack if he gets a Republican majority in Congress.

Then factor in the rage against America that will be unleashed in every Islamic country in the world. Do you want the next 10 generations of your family to live their lives like the people in Israel, never knowing when or where the next bomber will strike?

Attacking Iraq equals more death, less safety. Holding off an attack equals less death (ours and theirs), less terrorism and no increase in danger.

It's not his fault, of course, but your vote for Lindsey Graham is a vote for death -- if not your child's, someone's. Think about that before you do the automatic straight-ticket GOP thing this November.

Gag! Hurl! Vomit! Acccck! Ptui!

"John David Rose is a long-time Hilton Head Islander and political observer."--This translates into "Country Club Leftist Who Likes to Run His Mouth From the Comfort of His Front Porch Rocking Chair."

I think Mr. Rose doesn't get enough feedback on his columns, don't you?

"Of course, if you do want to vote for your own child's death - vote Democrat! They'll pay you to abort the little guy!"

This woman thinks that Saadam is death not only for his own people, but for millions of others if he is allowed to continue building his arsonal of mass destruction weapons. Therefore, the only vote for me in November is Republican!

Liberals are panicking. If John David Rose felt certain Tommy Daschund would remain Majority Leader next January he wouldn't be writing in the wheedling, whining, crybaby tone he's writing the Democrats' political obituary in. He's desperate and knows the Democratic Senate era is all but over. With a screed like this we know now the news in the next two weeks leading up to Election Day can only be summed up as good, very good, and terrific!!! Thanks Rose for helping cheer us conservatives up.

Or we could vote for the Democrats. Then Saddam can stick a 100 megaton war head up our ass and a hole lot more of us will die. Then the Democrapheads can set up a blue ribbon pannel and decide how to deal with the two million dead people and the rest that will die from the devastation.

As a member of the Air Force I would rather fight and die on someone else's soil. I really don't want my wife and child to die in an attack because the washington types did not have the balls to stand up to psychos (psychos - the UN Saddam, Saudi Arabia, and the list goes on.

They hope for a long, peaceful life for themselves and their children

"To be prepared for War is one of the most effectual means of preserving peace." President George Washington first annual address to Congress, January 8, 1790

Is Rose a man or a mouse? Obviously, he doesn't value freedom enough to fight for it.

I hope you realize, sir John, that you are showing how big a fool you really are, since you are a man appealing to women by telling us that we are more intelligent. Now, granted, bleach-blonde 45-year-old members of the PTA may agree with you, but any intelligent woman is going to see you for what you really are: a cringing, lying cur, holding onto that one smidgeon of hope that you will come out successful.

As Twain said, "It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt."

Ignoramus! If nothing is done to stop this terrorism lots of moms, dads, sons, and daughters, will die right here as a result of terrorism. And should they succeed in making us Muslim, genocide would be the next move........watch out Christains and Jews.

Where can we write to this author?

I doubt that is possible to write a story that is more openly sexist.

"Because women think differently about life and death than men. Men rush at life, defending turf, doing battle in the workplace and marketplace. Women carry and bear the children and nurture them through childhood. They hope for a long, peaceful life for themselves and their children. Men hope for a heroic or at least shameless death."

What century is he writing this in?
