MOSCOW (AP) Armed men entered a Moscow theater Wednesday and took the audience hostage, the Federal Security Service said.
The theater was holding a performance of the musical Nord-Ost, one of the Russian capital's most popular productions.
The Interfax news agency said one of its reporters was inside the theater at the time of the raid. She told them in a telephone call that the men had fired into the air and were preventing the audience from leaving, the agency said.
Police units were on their way to the scene.

Olympic Coverage. ONLY American athletes with so much schmaltz..... very hard to watch all those soft focus slomo shots....Borint IMO.
The BBC covers all events and focuses on the ones with competition.

I just came back -- PLEASE TELL ME -- that we have not been analyzing a tree stump for FOUR straight hours while all of this is happening in Russia. This is intolerable. If any Russians are reading this -- we're not all dimwits -- we just get out news from dimwits.

ANYONE
There is a solution:
Use fiber optics to see inside. Use the ventilation system. Slowly fill building with gas (nitrous oxide is good).
When all are uncoscious, quickly remove the hostages. Do what you like with the terrorists.
This has worked before. Can anyone get this to officials in Moscow?

I was in Berlin during the Atlanta summer games and caught some coverage on BBC World. Totally agree.

"The situation is very tense, with the military in a ring round the building. "
. . .know our 'breaking news' and sniper coverage is beyond the pale tonight, but it is amazing that no has even referenced this 'happening' in Moscow. . .
What a horror for these people!
. . .and a really bad sign of things to come.

Don't worry the Russians know what they're doing. I just have a feeling that when the sun first starts rising over Moscow the operation will start and end quickly. Sunrise and sunset are times of dangerously bad visibility, worse in a way than the pitch black of night.

Our TV folks are dimwitted nitwits.
SHAME ON THEM. This is Russia, after all. And this is HUGE. All they need is a feed from Russian TV, or Canadian or the BBC.....
Not Phillipines or Indonesia. i'll give a get out of jail card for that and india.
They cover Israel, tho tonite I doubt they'd even go live to anyplace there no matter what happened.
A UHaul truck for half an hour. LOL!

When all are uncoscious, quickly remove the hostages. Do what you like with the terrorists.Might I suggest that you remove the terrorists first since there are less of them and it would be quicker, let the 700 hostages sleep it off until morning.

Nitrous is slow. Ever had it at the dentist? You need something completely pervasive and fast acting.
To: ChicagoRepublican
You have to wonder if the terrorists have nearly as much explosives in the theater as they want us to believe. Either it was prepositioned, which is doubtful, or they brought in mines and explosives with them undetected.
