MOSCOW (AP) Armed men entered a Moscow theater Wednesday and took the audience hostage, the Federal Security Service said.
The theater was holding a performance of the musical Nord-Ost, one of the Russian capital's most popular productions.
The Interfax news agency said one of its reporters was inside the theater at the time of the raid. She told them in a telephone call that the men had fired into the air and were preventing the audience from leaving, the agency said.
Police units were on their way to the scene.

When you have read the koran, you will know that the only difference between radical islamists, and the "peaceful" muslims, is the lenth of their beards.

We may see if the Russians are willing to show the same restraint.

Please keep the reports coming, thank you for your work. No problem. I can't believe this is not being covered extensively here in US. Even drudge didn't make this his top story.

>>Prime time where? Moscow, London, New York, Houston, Seattle, Honolulu, Beijing, Sydney, Delhi...?<<
Okay, not "PRIME TIME". It doesn't have to be prime time, so long as there are lots of videocameras.
My WTC memorial DVD is as crystal-clear as when it all happened. Rewind/slo-mo/ surround sound.
This is what I fear these monsters are after.

Heck no, only the ones who refuse to convert. Or more "correctly", those who don't publicly denounce the terrorists and their cause and repudiate Islamic law. Words are meaningless. Hey I'm saying all of this because I think the ENTIRE generation of muslims alive today in the middle east are tainted, cannot be trusted, and probably should be destroyed for the sake of our world. Thats what bothers me. I think you have to wield control over them for generations so that their kids learn to live like normal human beings and let the old people die out. Before they die they'd probably be shaking hands with Americans like the old Japanese warriors from WWII. A hell of a lot of people are going to die between now and that time though.

Bush is timid and hesitant. I expect the Taliban may disagree, but that's a discussion for another thread.

The world is going absolutely MADDDDD!! End times? You think?Nah, this is hardly a sneeze in Russian history. Stalin did in 50 million before the New York thought it was fit to print.
I do believe Islam as a political force will be finished before this is over. Muslims will be left to rot on reservations or relegated to self-exiled communities like the Amish.

Bush is timid and hesitant. Well, Clinton sure knows murdering and criminal behavior, but I can't see him doing BETTER than President Bush in the War on Terror. I thank my lucky stars for term limits, otherwise we might still have Bubba at the helm.

This is so incredibly sad.

Will the references to Muslims being allowed to leave make tomorrow's papers? We'll see. It's reported by Reuters at yahoo, but far down in the article. I'm sure local news in my leftie city will never mention it.

At least it's the lead story on msnbc.com right now. Still buried on cnn.com and drudge though.

more BREAKING news.
According to gazeta.ru, a crowd of people around the theater is demanding a decisive action - lynching and extermination of the terrorist. Also, the article mentions that terrorists have released ~300 hostages.
Russia NUKES MECCA! Well, you can wish upon a star, can't you?
To: My Favorite Headache
russia and France are both trying to keep the money coming from Iraq and Iran. That is why they have not joined in. What a bunch of whores.
To: BrooklynGOP
So how long have the hostage-takers been in there now? An hour or two? If they're releasing hostages, maybe negotiations are well underway.

Also, the article mentions that terrorists have released ~300 hostages. So -- 1000 hostages, then 800, now 500? Are they getting a managable group? I bet their thinking 1000 dead bodies means nuclear waste for Chechnya.

So how long have the hostage-takers been in there now? An hour or two? Reportedly a man did come out to talk to the russian police. I think they let that many out so it would easier for them to control the remaining hostages.
