Granholm continues to hold healthy lead over Posthumus
(Lansing-AP, October 23, 2002, 10:00 a.m.) Democratic Attorney General Jennifer Granholm continues to hold a healthy lead over Republican Lieutenant Governor Dick Posthumus.
She got 51 percent to his 37 percent in the latest poll by EPIC MRA of Lansing. The statewide poll of six hundred voters shows Green Party candidate Douglas Campbell had the support of two percent while Joseph Pilchak of the U.S. Taxpayers Party had the support of one percent of those questioned. Ten percent were undecided.
The poll was conducted Sunday through Tuesday and has a margin of error of plus or minus four percentage points. WNEM-TV of Saginaw helped pay for the poll.
Granholm has maintained a double-digit lead over Posthumus during the entire general election campaign, despite a flurry of negative ads run by the state Republicans and Democratic parties.
Granholm continues to have more voters who think well of her. In the poll, 55 percent gave her a favorable rating, while 24 percent gave her an unfavorable rating and 18 percent were undecided.
Forty percent said they had a favorable opinion of Posthumus, while 36 percent had an unfavorable opinion and 19 percent were undecided.

I think you mean the 11th(McCotter/Kelley). That one will be VERY close imo. Granholm is from the 11th. Livonia is Mike Duggan and McNamara's turf(although normally GOP and NRA turf). Lots of union members(Especially Westland/Wayne/Van Buren/Redford/Garden City).
Dingell also has one of the best GOTV machines out there and I know he's targeting the 11th. Ask Lynn Rivers. That "down to the wire" race was an 18 point blowout. Chris Dingell has a judicial race in Wayne County that could be close so he'll get his people out.
I think McCotter will pull it off, but it won't be easy.
