Let's keep a live commentary thread going again today. The FBI Tip Line #1-888-324-9800.
All seems quiet since yesterday's news the shooter may target children specifically. It was released on various news outlets the shooter's 3-page letter to police was in broken English and threatened extreme violence. Police announced an electronic transfer of $10m as requested by the shooter was not possible but other options for transfer remain open. No one seriously believes police will actually give the shooter $$, but police are trying to keep a dialogue open with the shooter in an effort to capture this monster.

My bet on the tree stump: American Elm, Maple, or Lombardy Poplar.
Reason:
American Elms die of disease.
Some maples are bad trees with dropping sticks and roots that come to the surface, so the owners might have cut it down.
Lombardy Poplars are popular, fast-growing trees, but short-lived.
Can you tell I am a gardener? HA!

Okay, this is what I get for not keeping up. They've arrested a stump????
To: bcoffey
LOL
It's also going to have its very own guard.

You mean Greta's face doesn't move? I'm too fascinated looking at that irregularly shaped mouth to watch the rest of her!

Stump is in custody, but is not the suspect.

All I can say is: follow the money That bears repeating 50,000 times. FOLLOW THE MONEY. There's a track there. Sniff it out, and you'll find the b@stards funding this thing, esp. if these perps turn out to be clueless initiates.

The tree belongs too the two deported Mexicans from last week....

LOL

I think they mean an Native American as in "Not foreign" :) Just a guess.
To: Letitring
oh...a dead stump...so sad!
To: Peach; rintense
Yeah, we heard the "native American of Hispanic extraction" too.
Dad Indian, Mom Hispanic...? (Just kiddin!) sw
To: edayna
Maybe they just mean he's a Mexican?
CNN just reported that LE missed the sniper by about 10 minutes during the phone booth debacle due to miscommunication between the task force and Henrico County officials.

Sacajaweau - Oak

cnn has a neighbor on NOW saying they called 911 on the prior resident of this house
due to gunfire on more than one occasion ...
cops responded to the area, but evidently didn't find who was shooting ...
To: rintense
Forgive me but I'm STUMPED. The person's heritage was so weirdly phrased as to make it suspect.

Yes, it resisted. They had a terrible time with that thing. :) However, in true FBI fashion, they prevailed, got that sucker dead to rights and hauled it off in rental truck. U-haul, to be exact. :)
To: Peach
Neighbor said they would hear gunfire about once a month. That's not unusual in that part of Tacoma.

Bingo...

And I thought I had a dull seatmate on my flight today. :) LOL!
