These guys are totally ME sobs. I don't think GameBoy tm kids are setting up wire transfers

All signs are pointing to ME terrorism. The authorities in DC do not want to cause an outlash against Muslims though so they are keeping it quiet. The letter has threats of "Extreme Violence" not just shooting anymore now they have upgraded to "extreme"

One lonely gunman does not have the (saudi) resources to do all of this.

"One lonely gunman does not have the (saudi) resources to do all of this."

Sorry, but I don't buy that. The very same comment was made during the mailbox bombings here in the Midwest. "A single person couldn't being doing all of this... blah, blah, blah." (I'm an outside salesman. I remember stating to my wife that that circuit would be quite easy for a single person. Sure enough, it turned out to be a single, not-so-smart, college student pulling off the bombings.)

I agree that this is some form of terrorism. It could be international or domestic. Regardless, what has been happened so far could easily be achieved by a single person. What "resources"? .223 ammo is cheap. Gasoline is cheap. What in this case would indicate any large investment of resources?

We (government and civilian) need to realize that this is not a law enforcement issue. This is warfare being conducted against the population of the United States of America. This needs to be dealt with as a Civil-Defense issue. Involving the people in the apprehension and destruction of these critters should be the game plan. Nothing else will work unless these guys make a mistake, and so far, that doesn't look too likely. The available cover in these areas is plentiful and ideal for this type of operation. These killings have the ear mark of either Hezbollah, Party of God or possibly a coop between these groups and Al Qaida.

Part of the LA Times Article re: broken English..so it's possible this guy is a foreign terrorist.

"The person you called could not hear everything you said," Moose said in a televised plea late Monday afternoon. "The audio was unclear and we could not get it right. Call us back so that we can clearly understand."

Moose and other investigators would not divulge their discussions with the killer. But several officials and former police investigators described the hidden dialogue as a fragile dance designed to draw the sniper out and learn more about his mental state, while scrutinizing his letter for any traces of physical evidence that might be used to track him down.

"They're trying any way they can to kick this investigation up to the next level," said Joe Vince, a former chief of the Crime Gun Analysis Branch at the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Writer Makes Demands

The letter was found behind a Ponderosa steakhouse parking lot about 50 feet from where the victim fell. The note contained demands for dialogue with police and several threatening passages, said an official involved with the task force. Authorities were convinced soon after studying the letter that it was genuine and decided during a high-level meeting Sunday to open communications with him.

"They're confident this is the guy," the official said.

Federal agents said the letter was "very lengthy" and poorly worded, bordering on broken English. Officials would not speculate whether the wording indicated whether the writer was a native English speaker or foreign-born.

Authorities close to the task force also said the letter contained unspecified threatening language about children — a warning that appeared to have played a role in prompting school officials in Richmond and surrounding suburbs to cancel classes Monday.
