These are the same people who make fun of people with thick southern accents. They're all a bunch of know-it-all heros.

"off shore wire transfer, he demanded 10 million."

For real? Where did that come from? I did hear them say on Fox that apparently he had wanted money transferred into an offshore account and that that was what they were referring to not being able to do. But I wasn't sure if that was based on speculation or an actual report.

I'm sure he asked for a wire transfer. I'm sure he knows exactly what's possible electronically, and knows that Moose & Co. are full of crap. Why the hell would he come to a PO box that would obviously be surveilled, leading to his capture?

Yeah it's total BS. Electronic transfer is easy. They just refuse because there is no advantage for the police. Although, if I were the police, I'd refuse too and try the idiot PO box drop. The Terrorist won't fall for it, but the cops are trying to see if he is that stupid -- I doubt it.

They'll be lucky if he doesn't get pissed and kill someone else again tonight or tomorrow for screwing around with him and continuing to treat him like he's stupid.

I think his average is about 30 hours between shots. Tick tock tick tock...another victim. We can just hope the sniper makes a mistake or we get lucky. It's so easy to shoot people randomly in a very large area and get away with it.

Ask Daschle about homeland security. I think it is bottled up somewhere in the senate.....

He was fired from liberal Portland for poor conduct. I think that is evidence of his record.

Do you have a link for this? I read that he retired from Portland. Thanks in advance.

If the motive is money, why would he (they) wait until 12 shootings later before stating their reasons and demands?.......

Why not after the 4th.....5th.......6th.......7th.......?

That's is why I think it may be a ruse.

Does anyone know why this is not under the jurisdiction of homeland security?

Ask Tom Daschle... he may be able to tell you. (Don't take this as a slam at Tom. I respect the fact that he looks up to his constituents...)

Mr. Moose just held another news conference. Said the Police Department couldn't communicate electronically with the sniper in the manner he requested. What a mess.

The police said call back to get an 800 number or a PO Box.

Bwhahahahha. Yeah, I have real faith in this investigation ala Mr. Moose.

We better pray for the people in that area.

Considering the total lack of info on this shooter ( according to police) the press sure is making this person(s) sound like just an American gun nut. Terrorism is kept WAYYYYY back on the burner.
IF the press were unbiased, they would discuss ALL angles, like ME terrorism, left wing ELF, left wing ALF, and all other terrorist groups on record. They could easily be the culprits, too.
By not even discussing possible terrorist groups, they're covering the fort for their Democrat canidates in the upcomming election.
Democrats can use the "see what happens with guns" until November, THEN the truth or possibilities can be discussed.

"Sure - he is in over his head"

And who wouldn't be with this kind of a situation?

Probably they're just messing with his mind. However, electronic transfer is only easy if one has the wire number for an actual bank. If the sniper messed up on the numbers (not hard to do, if you aren't a banking operations pro), it could very well be impossible to "comply electronically".

If ransom IS the motive, then the shooter probably wanted to first demonstrate that he could continue to kill people at will, even under intense scrutiny. Ransom probably works better when the threat is demonstrable if not met. If he killed one person, then asked for ransom, the cops would have less reason to believe he could get away with it for long.

With all of the alphabet soup agencies associated with the investigation, I don't think Moose is calling ANY shots. I think his media appearances are not to feed the media dogs, but are minutely scripted for the sole purpose of communication with the sniper(s). I'll bet there are a bevy of government psychiatrists, mediation experts, etc. telling Moose EXACTLY what to say and NOT to deviate from the script.

Kind of hard to believe there are any left, though, with all the pundits on the news channels blathering about the case with (RET) after their names!

Oh. You mean that other Moose guy.

Never mind.

Maybe I should just change my handle and enter the Caribou Protection Program... *sigh*

The former sheriff in Brown County (Green Bay) was beyond inept. We had an inordinate amount of jail suicides, incompetent investigations, Huber inmates housed at a local motel at an inflated price and--this is the kicker--had at least two jail inmates use the jail as a Motel 6, checking in & out at will via a sheet rope off a 3rd story roof. They'd leave after the last head count at night & get back before the first head count in the morning, until that Fateful Day when they didn't get back in time (one of them was awaiting trial for 1st degree sexual assault & arson). When the reporters were brought into the cell block & saw the door to the outside propped open onto a fenced in roof exercise area, they asked for the tape from the security camera. Well, um, it was a fake camera. Eyes bulged. The sheriff claimed budget woes. Nobody bought it.

The asssistant police chief, Tom Hinz (also Brett Favre's road game body guard) ran as a write-in candidate (it was past the time for filing as a regular candidate) and won with about 75% of the vote. Tom is retiring this year and we sure are going to miss his quiet competency.
