If he is a lone gunman, he looks at himself separate from the rest of society; hence, "your children"
Well, this, combined with a Freeper (MJY1288) on this thread saying his sister works on the Montgomery Co. task force, and that he is convinced it is NOT Muslim terrorists...that makes me think again about the missing French sniper. He's foreign, he's missing, he knows how to shoot at a distance, and is presumably not Muslim.
I don't think that's the case, and while in fact, this murdering bastard may not be a American, I don't see this as proof.
Anyone making this statement would have never said "our" children.
That would be really weird.
Nothing unusual in the context ... your children. It simply means children "your" children.
I suspect you're right. However, it could just be a guy with no children.
Or "My children are safe, but not yours." Not exactly open-and-shut that this guy is Middle Eastern IMHO, but definitely a possibility.
Don't agree. Even though I have thought all along that this is ME terrorism, an American male with no children of his own could easily have written the message in this manner. He is an outsider now. Anybody not him is the enemy, so their children could easily be "your" children in his eyes.
And how exactly would an American state the same sentence? Let us say for example some perp engaging in child murders was threatening a neighborhood! Would he not also use the phrase 'your children?'
Or are you saying he would say 'my children' or something like that if he was American?
