They are at 48.2% each! It doesn't get any closer!

Heartening news considering that b*tch spending the past couple of weeks standing on top of the sniper victims before their bodies are even cold blasting Ehrlich on gun control. Look's like it ain't working.

Sounds like bad news for KKT. That's good news for us.

KKT will win if she can get the customary 90% or more of the black vote Democrats typically get. Simple as that. That's why she's put everything into race baiting. So far at least there's no evidence any of the middle of the road self defined "moderate" voters are turned off by this kind of crude offensive tactic.

Watch for suspicious results from Baltimore after the count is complete and Ehrlich is ahead.

KKT started playing the gun control/family tragedy card against Bob Ehrlich right after the DC sniper situation began to gather momentum. On the face of it, the sniper situation would seem to provide a political boost to KKT in her dead heat race with Ehrlich, as it might bring back some of the gun-hating Dims who have been skeptical of her candidacy.

But, the devil may be in the details or at least at the local polls on election day. The DC sniper shootings started in Montgomery county and have also occurred in Prince Georges county (the 13 year old boy shot at school) in Maryland. The sniper has also moved west and south into the District of Columbia and into rural Virginia on several occasions.

Montgomery and Prince Georges counties are two of the largest in MD, surrounding the northern and eastern borders of DC. But more importantly, they are two of the most Democratic counties in their voting patterns.

In 1998, Paris Glendening got 55% of the vote across the entire state of MD. But, Paris carried over 62% in Montgomery County and over 74% in Prince Georges county. The vote pluralities in these two counties accounted for the total statewide vote plurality (about 160,000 votes) in Glendenings win over Ellen Sauerbrey. Therefore, turnout in these heavily Democrat counties will be absolutely critical to the chances of KKT in the election.

The sniper threat has remained well outside of Ehrlich's political country. Heavily Republican counties favoring Ehrlich are very far north and west of the shooting zones near DC.

While people in the rest of MD are concerned about the DC sniper, they currently do not have the same level of fear that has gripped Montgomery and Prince Georges counties, both Democrat strongholds.

So, it would appear that if the sniper is still on the loose on November 5th, we may observe significant low voter turnout in these 2 counties. And, in a close race that could be decided by only 1 or 2 percentage points, the DC sniper situation could be the deciding factor in the election.

There's been no change in this race's polling numbers for a couple of months.

Very good point. But I pray to God that this cowardly, murderous thug is killed well before Nov. 5th. Like, say, today!

If the sniper is not caught by election day, you can be guaranteed that Glendening will call out the National Guard in PG & Montgomery counties. KKT knows her goose is cooked if the crap votes don't show in those two critical counties. There's no way Baltimore city could manufacture enough votes to overcome low voter turnout.

I also heard on another news station this a.m. that she was behind in the polls.

It is everyone's hope that the sniper is caught ASAP and that no more innocent people are killed. But, there appears to be the potential for political fall-out as the election approaches.

The longer this nut remains on the loose, the more frightened people in the DC area become. It just so happens, the sniper has been operating in heavily Democratic voting counties. It would be ironic if the issue that KKT has been attempting to exploit against Ehrlich, comes back to undo her on November 5th.

Do you know the news station where you heard this? I'd say the polls are consistently showing this race a dead heat.

So, you think Paris would do something so obviously political! He just might try. The MD Dims know that massive black turnout in Montgomery and PG counties as well with a fair amount of voter fraud will be needed to haul KKT's sorry behind over the goal line.

Ron Smith's station. I listen to him often. Thanks, I have seen that poll - Ehrlich leads 46-45%. Not exactly what I would call Townsend trailing, but at least she's not up a point! :-)

KKT's call to disarm African-Americans (which is what all gun-control is about) might well resonate in Montgomery County now that the beltway snipers have been caught.

On the other hand, her use of the expression "the extreme wing of the Republican party" is a waste of campaign dollars.

Why can't the Kennedy clan just pack it in, quit the old family racket, and move back to Europe with their Nazi friends.

Can you find a report that KKT said on radio today that she didn't support death penalty for the beltway murderers now under arrest?

Or in the words of Horatio (David Caruso) on CSI Miami, "Quit procreating!"

Many of the races we have heard about from around the nation, with republicans trailing, are now closing fast. Well, except Forrester! Anyway, shows good momentum into the last swing! Keep it up!
