Pretty much the same deal unless you're at an outfall and some systems intermingle depending on age (stormwater pollution control courtesy enviro's). I remember doing that to as a tyke too, its a wonder we made it til now eh?

If they perp[s] know the system though, you could be right. I'd hate to hand-to-hand with someone who could toss around a manhole or stormdrain grate with relative ease though...

The area of this mornings shooting has very little in the way of true woods. Also most of our treed areas, are deciduous and contain mostly unmanaged undergrowth, with dense sapling growth. If he was using the woods, particularly attempting to drive through them, you'd see ample evidence of this.
There are many escape routes in this area, though we're talking traffic camera saturation at the crossroads of these intersections. The cameras follow Georgia ave. North. only to rte 108.....but he could conceivably keep going up to the state highway 70, which gives easy access to Baltimore, Frederick and the West.

He could also have taken Bel Pre Road to Layhill Road, and headed north into Howard County and disappeared. No major roads, no cameras. There's an awful lot of nothing up that way.
