The Psycho Sniper says he wants blood money to end his terrifying murder spree - and he's opened a dialogue with cops to negotiate the payout.

The Beltway sharpshooter made his demand in a three-page note found after his latest attack, on Saturday night, federal law-enforcement sources told The Post.

He wants to cut a deal. Well... when he's caught he's taken to Guantanamo Bay for target practice, when there are no targets left, then we talk about a deal.

If the bumper stickers had been "Gore-Lieberman", "Visualize World Peace", and the like, they wouldn't have even mentioned it.

That's probably right. Hadn't thought of that.

BTW, I always thought it was, "Visualize Whirled Peas."

I'm not a particular champion of any news publication in this area but felt I should clear up the idea that this paper is not reporting accurately or that it's leaking info it should not. From what I have observed, it is doing neither.

Thanks for the clarification. You are right; I did get them mixed up with the Washington papers. Not the first time I have ever screwed up. Hubby usually lets me know when I do. :)

My gut says this note is not from the sniper, but some very sick person who thinks he can cash in from all this.

Or the note is made up by the cops to get the asassins riled up enough to 'take credit'.

I don't credit the French marksman story unless he's an Algerian.

"My gut says the ransom is a diversion."

I agree. If the guy has any brains at all he knows there is no way there could be a pay off that wouldn't result in his apprehension.

could have been placed later by some unrelated thug

Yes, it could have been, and same with the Tarot card and the phone number.

" isn't it amazing how the writer managed to get Bush, Cheney, NRA and Marine Corps stickers into the article"

Yeah, especially considering the temporary tag on the vehicle. I recently sold a car to a young black guy. It had confederate flag stickers on it. Does that make the buyer of the vehicle a supporter of the flag. He might be, but if he isn't a case could be made that it may have taken him some time to get around to removing the stickers.

"Could be an outright lie by the cops in an effort to get the shooter to call them again."

Interesting concept. Or if they believe that it is more than one they might use something like this to convince them that that one of them is not to be trusted. Just a thought.

" I think this killer would have to be profoundly stupid to do this (leave two samples of his own handwriting for police to find and to think he could get away with a money handover)"

Okay, consider this possibility...just a thought I had reading your post. Granted, I don't think the sniper is THAT stupid and maybe I watched too many westerns in my younger days, but suppose the guy has someone working with him that IS that stupid, someone who really looks up to him and will believe whatever he says as well as doing whatever he says. That way he gets to stay safely obscure while putting some flunkee in the line of fire. Might be a longshot, but still, a possibility.

Let's assume, for discussion, that this is legit. What happens when the money runs out? Also, doesn't this give others a reason to kill, so they can get money to stop?

Reagan was right; NEVER NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS!

"Has Israel ever seen a money ransom demand from a Pallie?"

Has Abu Sayyef ever made any ransom demands in the Phillipines?

"there were specific threats saying that children will be the next targets"

With Halloween coming up this could be particularly ominous. I am not a fan of Halloween anyway but I think particularly this year, at least in that area, it would be wise of parents to keep their kids in.

This is probably very "sharp-shooting" for the French army, though. That would explain a lot.

Nah, if he was French he would have surrendered already. L.O.L.
