Vanity (But True!!!): I was on Southwest Flight 160 with Al Gore!!!! ROTFLOL ALERT!!!!

NOT MAKING THIS UP!!!

Hubby and I were just about to board Southwest Flight 160 from Hartford CT to Nashville last Saturday. Next thing we knew The Goron was in the gate area having his bags checked, being wanded, and then (of course) being hustled to the front of the line so he could be seated on the plane ahead of the people in wheelchairs.

Our reactions: astonishment, loud laughter, and then marvel at how nervous and self-conscious he seemed. Hubby and I settled into quiet joking and insults between the two of us--although hubby said The Goron gave him a long stare while he was being wanded--hubby glared right back at him until he looked away (LOL).

We had to walk by The Goron to get seated in the back. The Goron and his lackey toook up all 6 seats at the very front right side of the plane. (Didn't know Southwest had First Class Seating--LOL). As everyone passed by, no one spoke to The Goron either positively or negatively--we all basically ignored him, which was a little strange, now that I think about it. The Goron held up a newspaper in front of his face & pretended to read it the whole time--but he was turning the pages every five seconds and he kept one eyeball uncovered so he could look over each passenger as they walked by. It was a really wierd thing to watch.

I have to say, I actually had no desire to even make a joking snide comment as I passed by The Goron. The overall impression he made on me was that he's just another loser with a capital L , desperately wanting to be someone important, at the same time projecting no self-confidence. I actually felt sorry for him at the time.

During the two-hour flight the Goron got up a couple of times to use the lavatory (must have been drinking ice tea--LOL!!!). When the plane landed, he grabbed his lock-box and was the first guy off the plane (of course).

Hubby and I are still laughing about this. Talk about wierd karma............

After LMAO my way through 160 posts (!), I was disappointed no one brought up the mention of why we could all correspond around here like we do.

Mainly, that he stated he 'invented the internet' - ha, remember that jewel?

both Hubby and I actually felt sorry for him and thought "What's the point to insulting this loser?"

Indeed. Ignoring him was probably the worst thing you could have done, though I do wish he was a mind reader.

I'm not too good at math right now, but this might be a record. Three double-posts inside of 15 posts.

"....Mr.gore is a human being...."
mason123

So are the unborn and partially born babies that he made possible to be slaughtered.

al gore, by his support of the murder of the unborn and partially born is nothing more than a clod- blooded murder and so are those who support him.
Go goof your gums on a clam.

As Jesus. Es said, mason has freedom of speech. Fine and good! But, I have to say that I looked up her posts on other threads, and she tends to preach. A turn-off in my book.

Lighten up, mason! Just roll with it! You may not approve, but sermonizing won't win friends. Relax -- no harm was done, and proper sympathy for the man was shown.

People are strange
when you're a stranger.
Faces look ugly,
when you're alone.
Women seem wicked,
when you're unwanted.
Streets are uneven,
when you're down.

After all that poor man has been through, I would be even more of a basket case than he is if similarly situated.

Stand with mason all you want, but since when has FreeRepublic.com started bowing to feelings.

This forum is based more from debating fact from fiction and upholding conservatism.

Gore has no "juice". Not if he is riding the cattlecar in the sky. Gore must be even more dislikable and dorky in person than he is reading from a script. No wonder Clinton picked Gore. Gore was almost elected president of the US. That should mean something. Only a mental lightweight or a truly unlikeable person with Gore's backgound would not be able to find a free ride on a private jet.

I agree that Gore has no "juice" left. The only way he can spin out these flights is to say in debates and on the talking head shows is that he "travels with the People and understand their frustration." And there'd be just enough truth in it to give him some cred with the Dim base. But I personally think that Gore is being groomed as the sacrificial lamb. He's going to carry all the sins and faults of the Clinton years for the Party so they can start with a fresh page in 2006-08. After the 2004 race, his chapter in history is closed.

Several of the many Algore images must have stayed home, or he would have needed a lot more than six seats.

Intolerant hatemongers? So what did he do? He just looked at him for crying out loud. This is just what liberals want us to do - to be so afraid that we might offend a liberal by looking at them that we just lay down, put our hands out in front of us, bow and beg for forgiveness for being a conservative.

Well mason123,

To hear you tell it, you'd never make a boorish response. Of course, you're simply displaying your own desire to humiliate and "trump" someone.
