He said that a person left them a note with a number. Moose told him that they want to talk and to call them at the number that was on the note.

How does that work? the person left a phone # won't that mean the COPS should call HIM???

I wonder if the guy left the # for the tip line (the one for people to call in if they know anything about the sniper) sort of as way to further mock the police.

Obviously, the phone company knows the location of the phone number. I'm sure that they would tell the cops, if asked. And, I suspect that the sniper knows that.

Doesn't it make more sense that the sniper wants the cops to go to the phone and answer it?

Couldn't they just look up the address registered to that phone number?

I believe the police tried to call the number repeatedly and no one picked up. So the police have now taken over that same number and are asking the perp or whoever it is to call them at that number.

I just got here so maybe someone else has had this thought...but I think they left a cell phone for the cops.
