Chief Moose Asks Sniper to Call Them Back
Beltway Sniper attempted contact last night !
Very short press conference where he simply states that the Beltway Sniper attempted contact and Chief Moose requested that he call them back.
Therefore, we should presume that they are guilty? I thought we went down this road earlier. Do you really want to create a nation where people are presumed guilty and then must prove their innocence?
Are you admitting that there isn't ENOUGH data???
Terrorist Cleric's Son In Gitmo?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/620477/posts
Ahmed Abdel-Rahman was captured in Afghanistan last month by anti-Taliban forces. Vice President Cheney has indicated he is likely to face a U.S. military commission.Abdullah Abdel-Rahman said it appeared anti-Taliban forces had turned over all their prisoners to the United States. He said he had heard reports that his brother was in U.S. military detention at Guantanamo.
Members of Egypt's parliament have demanded the government report to the People's Assembly on nine alleged Egyptian Al Qaeda members, including the sheik's son, detained by the United States, the London-based pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat reported.
Another son of the sheik, Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, was reported dead last month after he was wounded in the bombardment of Afghanistan's Tora Bora caves.
U.S. officials believe the two sons, in Afghanistan since 1989, were senior members of Al Qaeda, the terror group led by Osama Bin Laden. But Abdullah Abdel-Rahman has denied that, saying the group his father led and to which his brothers belonged, al-Gamaa al-Islamiyya, had several differences with Al Qaeda.

Of 500 Prisoners From Afghanistan, None Look Like Candidates For Military Tribunal, Pentagon Says
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/fr/635549/posts
Of the nearly 500 prisoners from the war in Afghanistan, the Pentagon says it has found none that might be suitable for the new military tribunals.(snip)
President Bush in early November approved the use of special military tribunals that could put accused terrorists on trial faster and in greater secrecy than an ordinary criminal court. The Pentagon says it will be up to Bush to decide who goes to the tribunal, and Pentagon lawyers have been working to write rules for anyone Bush might choose.
I don't know if this was a refusal to bargain or not--or even a counter offer, if you read the rest of the article--or whether we'd already traded him.
But note that the first email about Daniel Pearl's kidnapping was received the preceding Sunday (before news of Rahman's capture was published), and the last one was received on Wednesday, 01-30-02. My guess is Pearl was killed because we refused to trade. After all, that was the MO in the past when Sheik Omar Saeed himself was freed by hijacking the Indian airliner.
If I'm right and we still have him custody, that may be who they are after.
It also might explain the trip to Gitmo.
And it fits with what J.J. said about Rahman being called The Sword.
Remember that these same LE live in the areas targeted by the shooter. And many of their family and friends live in these areas as well.
I sincerely think that they are investigating all possible connections, whomever they may be. jmo
If not, then they are endangering not only their lives but those of their families and friends, and I do not believe they would do that just to be PC.
I have spoken to my neighbors and they do not see this as being ME terrorists. I have spoken to my brother and sister in-law (they are both in LE) and they do not see this as ME terrorists either, (AT THIS POINT, BASED ON EVIDENCE GIVEN TO THE PUBLIC!)
No. You haven't even tried to be rational at all as evidenced by your attack on my 'handle' which pokes fun at a terrorist's name.
But, yes, it's late. Good night. Check under your bed and in your closet so you don't have to worry about MET's while you are trying to sleep. :)
If you want to say it's not METs so the bastards don't have the satisfation of succeeding at our expense, fine. It's not MET.
If you want to say it's not METs because you're protecting some crucial evidence, fine. It's not METs.
Just don't say you know what's going on.
Because when even Terry Lenzer says "it's terrorism" as he did today on Fox with Tony Snow...it's terrorism.
Not protecting crucial evidence. Just WAITING for crucial evidence.
And it IS terrorism, just too soon to say whether it is ME terrorism or homegrown terrorism.
When I saw both Terry Lenzer and Bill Gertz in the space of 5 minutes admit that, that's exactly what I thought too.
Someone said that early in this thread, but several of us couldn't find any actual confirmation of that, so it seems to be a rumor at this point. The person who said it seemed to confuse it with what one of the Columbine shooters wrote in German.
This sniper is much more clever than the authorities realized. He seems very professional: deliberating, careful and absolutely dedicated to his mission (cold-hearted) - just like Lonnie Horiuchi, the FBI sniper who calously shot to death a woman holding a baby in her arms.
This guy has been very well trained and does not appear, to me, to be the type to "play" with the authorities. Once we know who trained him, we can start understanding this sniper. Before that time, all these so-called media "experts" and "profilers" are just pissin in the wind.
