FORT LAUDERDALE - Broward County's new elections chief has asked county commissioners to approve a $1.5 million emergency cash advance to cover the cost of the Nov. 5 election.
Joe Cotter told commissioners Monday the elections office is running out of money because Elections Supervisor Miriam Oliphant overspent her budget by $900,000 in the fiscal year ended Oct. 1.
Broward County had 50 poll workers not show up to do their jobs. Do you really think 50 workers not showing up was a coincidence? Miriam Oliphant was up to her eyeballs in the deal
The were trying to set up a election debacle down their to throw the decision into the courts again.
Reno was trying to steal the election
Because hers is an elected position, she cannot be "fired". However, look for Miriam Oliphant to be removed from her position after she is charged and convicted of malfeasance in office. A lot of the budget overrun in her office was due to the sweetheart contracts she doled out to "friends and family".
You can't fool Mother Nature.
HAR! I will bet cash money that they will be watching everything, and that the Rats are not happy with this development, because they can't complain about "civil rights" monitors!
In addition, the House is sending some poll watchers.
Lastly, Jimmy Carter's group is sending some whiners.
Probably there will be more watchers than voters!
"Sad."
Sad?!! Where I work, that'd be classified as CRIMINAL and I'd be unceremoniously dumped, at least, and probably prosecuted!!
Florida FReepers have gotta keep a close eye on the RAT-controlled voting districts, or else the corrupt RAT Machine will steal this election like they tried to steal 2000!!
FReegards...MUD
Here's one of the chief swamp Rats:
From the SP Times last June:
Conventional wisdom has Janet Reno sweeping the black vote, but two of Florida's three black members of Congress, all Democrats, are not hopping on the Reno bandwagon.
"Janet Reno can't win," said U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings of Broward County, a Reno stronghold. "I told her that if she hadn't seen Waco burning enough, Bill Clinton kissing Monica enough, and Elian being snatched enough, then she should run for governor." He favors Bill McBride.
The Sun Sentinel adds this after the election:
U.S. Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Miramar, said nothing Oliphant is accused of rises to the level of misdeeds he thinks were committed by former Secretary of State Katherine Harris in the 2000 election. He said Bush would face the wrath of black voters in the November election if he removes Oliphant.
"I dare the governor to remove her," Hastings said. "He'll create a firestorm that will eclipse the one he created in the One Florida plan. He'll need Katherine Harris to count the votes for him again."
________
Instead of firing Ms. Oliphant after the primary, Jeb o.k.ed Broward's solution...to assemble a "commission" to 'oversee' the election. Ms. Oliphant is happy, claiming she chose the members. Guess who's in charge? One of Alcee Hasting's top aids.
Please let me know if you want on or off my "'til election day" Fla. ping list.
Funny how this number keeps coming up. The teachers union mortgaged their building in Tallahassee for $1.5 mil, and handed over a check of $1.5 mil to McLawyer for his campaign. The money was available from "Union Dues" because all of their other expenditures had been covered by the mortgage. To quote another poster "can you spell f-u-n-g-i-b-l-e?"
LOL...the scurrilous Mr. Hastings was right about this, but I believe all RATS should be held accountable for Slick Willie's misdeeds, especially the Senate RATS who voted as a bloc to keep his sorry arse in Power!!
And thanks fer that link on the GOP poll-watchers...MUD
