What does the script in Arabic actually say on the newly released Christmas stamps? Does anyone know? Is Ala got a thing going with Hannakah and Nativity?

MUSLIM CHRISTMAS STAMPSThat looks a bit oxymoronic.
To: rovenstinez
It either says "I will not buy this record, it is scratched." or "My hovercraft is full of eels."

Well, at least it doesn't depict a Jumbo jet crashing into New York, or paratroopers descending on Israel to wipe out the Jews, like that calendar a while back. I guess we should be grateful for small mercies.

How about because they aren't Christmas stamps?
US Postal Service Muslim Stamps are honoring a Muslim holiday.
The Christmas stamp, as always will feature the Madonna and Child. The Holiday stamp features snowmen.

The first day of the Muslim lunar month of Shawwal, Eid al-Fitr signifies "The Feast of Breaking the Fast." This festival marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. This is a day that should be celebrated by all...
because after a month-long hiatus, it is now politically correct to bomb muslim countries again.

A 34-cent Eid stamp was first issued on Sept. 1, 2001, Once upon a time it was said concerning a sucessful business: "Location, location, location. Today I guess we would have to add "Timing, timing, timing." I don't imagine the first eid stamp did very well after 9-11-01

EID stands for 'Eid-ul-Fitr, the celebration of the breaking of the fast of Ramadan. This year it falls on December 6.
"The celebration of 'Eid-ul-Fitr lasts three days, and in most countries, non-essential work is suspended during this time. Most of the formal observations, however, take place on the first day. A special offering for the poor is obligatory, funding much of the corporate benevolence for the year. Currently, Muslims in America are attempting to get 'Eid-ul-Fitr recognized as an official holiday."
