I heard just the opposite---that the pre-Y2K stuff is rapidly wearing out and that large replacements of all sorts of computer stuff are coming pretty soon.
But this truly is amazing. The market goes up what, 1100 points in 4 days, and Pupulva has nothing but a gloomy outlook. Methinks he must be a Bengals fan.

large replacements of all sorts of computer stuff are coming pretty soon. Clearly, at some point all this techie gear will have to be replaced. Doesn't mean anytime soon.

My guess is that he is a Chargers fan...

Pupulva has nothing but a gloomy outlook. Methinks he must be a Bengals fan. Short, short, short.
Doom and gloom, gloom and doom.
Pupulva will probably lose his ass when the market turns around; he's got his nose buried in shorts and gold.

that large replacements of all sorts of computer stuff are coming pretty soon. The thing is that a P2-400 with 256MB of RAM is really all you need on your desktop. There are times when you need more, but it's rare.
I have a Web customer whose managed server I run has an Athlon 1700XP. That CPU is so fast, that whatever they throw at it is zipped through - it spends all its time waiting on the disk, or the network. You can buy a barebones 1700 for $300 .

I don't know, he seems to call the games with accuracy. I don't think he thinks of himself as a bull or bear, he justs wants to be on the right side.

Nah, he's a Lions fan.

I'm just a dumb guy on the sidelines watching all this. Trying to learn, interested in what's going on. Been following this Puplava guy for a while. Looking at the midday numbers, looks like another of those 1,2,3,4 things he was talking about.
I used to read Crudele in the NY Post before the bubble burst and when I could get a free copy of that paper, and he was a gloomster too. Thing is, he was right. Luckily for me, I kept my cash out of the market.
