Presidential bid by ex-first lady opposed
69% in U.S. think Hillary Clinton should never run, poll says
10/15/2002

ALBANY, N.Y. - A strong majority of Americans think Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton should never run for president, a poll released Monday showed.
The Marist Institute for Public Opinion found that 69 percent of Americans think the Democratic former first lady, now a senator from New York, shouldn't run. Twenty-six percent said she should run "someday." A poll in March 2001 found 30 percent felt she should run for president someday.
"There's been some erosion from numbers that weren't very good to begin with," said Marist pollster Lee Miringoff. "There's no groundswell that says there needs to be a third Clinton term."
Mrs. Clinton's support was stronger in New York, the Northeast, California and among women, minorities and Democrats.
"Forty-two percent of Democrats who think she should run someday is something you can build on, but there's no one holding their breath, either," Mr. Miringoff said.
When people were asked whether they had a favorable opinion about Mrs. Clinton, 53 percent viewed her unfavorably, while 37 percent had a positive impression.
The results ran along party lines, with 66 percent of Democrats giving her favorable reviews, compared with 9 percent of Republicans and 36 percent of independents.
"There is a love-hate relationship with her, and when you get out of the Northeast, there's more of the latter and less of the former," Mr. Miringoff said.
The poll interviewed 1,000 people - 769 of them registered voters - at random by telephone. The margin of error was plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Most people are idiots that follow whatever views the Media tells them are fashionable at any given point in time. Most Americans either don't watch the news at all (too depressing), or get their information from mainstream news sound bites. As the wind changes direction, so does the course of public opinion!

Why do I have the uneasy feeling this poll is some sort of set up to be used in the future to enhance Hillary's presidential bid ?

I believe at least 69% think she should Eat Sh!t And Die.

Pretty much guarantees the witch will run now. We all know how contrary she can be.

No, I interpret this as 70% of Americans (including at least 1/4 of those who voted for Bill) say they are ashamed they ever put a Clinton in the White House, and won't do it again!

Why do I have the uneasy feeling this poll is some sort of set up to be used in the future to enhance Hillary's presidential bid? You have that feeling because you know anything less than 69% will be trumpeted as a move in her direction by the same sycophants who trumpeted the Rapist-in-Chief as the "Comeback Kid" for taking second in New Hampshire.

Hillary carried New York by much less of a margin than Gore carried the state -- and he didn't win nationally. It's hard to see her winning enough electoral votes. That said, I hope she never wins the nomination -- because it's always possible to win the general election and we don't need Evita Peron II as President.

Someone overlooked the "witchs dust"....
Yes the witches dust...
When the bitch gets on her Ajax 2000 Vibrating Broom and rides the campaign trail throwing dust, most American women will cave because the chance the 1st women could be president, would be VERY important..
Are American women that stupid...?....
Well, a lot of men will dust in their eyes too....
(What!..What!..)

Well, let's hope that if she ever does run, that same 69% vote AGAINST her.
To: MeeknMing
Well, the bad news is that clinton never really had more than about 30% of the voters who loved him, but the media managed to talk another 15% into voting for him and neither Bush Sr. nor Dole ran effective campaigns. Plus clinton won both elections with only a plurality because of third-party shennanigans.
The good news is that there are a lot of ambitious young Dems out there who want to be president, and they will hopefully stab Hillary in the back now she no longer has a real power base.
