you have proven my point about licensing being used to control the populace... what a shame someone like you is so threatened by the power of government that you will immediately succomb to the will of the state because of the threat of violence...

i did not condone shooting anyone, that is against the laws of man and god... the crime for driving without a license, should be eliminated for their is no clear victim...

if pulled over for a tail light infraction, write me a summons for that, what right does the officer have to investigate for further infractions... it is this type of authoritarian tactics that put officers in peril...

as long as people think they way you do, americans will never be free.

Please tell me which laws of man you obey, and which laws of God you obey. If the laws are in conflict with your belief system, do you choose to ignore these laws? If so, please define the difference between what you propose and anarchy.

I'm curious, though: in the story to which I linked, the guy didn't have his truck lights on at 12:30 a.m. This was in the city, not the country, and was in an area that was well-lit. Did he have the right to drive with his lights off, although there are laws that mandate that one drives with headlights on during certain hours, although there was ambient street lighting? Do others? What if he was not in a well-lit area? Did he have the right to have placed a renewal tag (obtained from who knows where) on his license plates although he didnt' renew his license plates? Do others? Does he have the right to refuse to register his car? Do others? Did he have the right to drive with no license? Do others? Did the sheriff's deputy have the right to pull him over for these traffic infractions? If so, why? If not, why not?

It's not all taillight and headlight infractions that matter. If you are guiding a giant hunk of steal down the roadway, your neighbors want to know that you have the ability to do so. They want to be assured that you have some knowledge of traffic laws and are financially responsible for your driving errors. Many unqualified drivers are rejected for licensing because they can't pass the written or actual driving test. I, for one, am glad they get weeded out.

I am assuming that you and others here who believe as you do on the license issue are self insured. You must have posted the proper bond or deposited with your local DMV the prescribed dollar amount. You will still be personally liable for any expenses your victims will incur beyond the amount you have posted. Unfortunately for the victims, it's usually the destitute individuals who are driving without licenses and without insurance. Insurance companies will not insure you if you do not posses a valid driver's license. Do you have the personal ability to pay for a lifetime of medical care for somebody you injure?

So you see it's not the government that's trying to regulate you, it's me and your neighbors.
