Did Kansi's one CIA target have some significance for Kansi's backers?
To: aristeides
...or he may be expert enough to try for the reward. If he sees the shooter, you don't think he'd want to "bag" him, thus the weapons? The girlfriend throws a clinker into this theory, though.

"Especially if a citizen in CCW Virginia ends up popping the guy."If that were to happen it would be too good. Of course if it did happen you could look for a concerted effort from the media to prove that the wrong guy had gotten popped.

The shooting in Baltimore Saturday morning and later arrest may have thrown a monkeywrench into the shooters' immediate plans.

Horse crap. Bin Laden has not wiped out any rights.

The shooters needed to get off the roads in 15 minutes. Or to find a place to hide and wait. I still wonder what kind of facilities are at that local mosque.

What do they have...a Bat Cave or something? Local garages that will conceal them? (I wonder what's at that mosque) Big trucks that can contain them?

Is it true that there are cameras along I-66?

The small scale may mean that this is just a threat intended to deter our leaders, like the anthrax. This is occurring in the D.C. area.

I wonder if the shooting of the boy explains why the guy in Baltimore ended up being shot by his girlfriend.
To: aristeides
I wondered about the possibility of hiding in a bigger truck, too (that is, driving into one), although then I couldn't see how they could do this without being noticed.
The people doing this are enormously familiar with the area roads. I'm sure they've probably been employed in some capacity that involved a lot of driving, or are perhaps independent taxi drivers who might be very familiar with the area and are not under supervision by an employer (I can't imagine any employer who owns a white truck like this not noticing that it was being sought in this case!)

If this is Islamic terrorism, perhaps there's some garage doors open for them, complete with door remotes. Fanciful...I guess...but it wouldn't be that complicated to do.

I'm now pretty convinced that they're from the Muslim community near Bailey's Crossroads. Isn't that where some of the 9/11 scum got their drivers' licenses?
To: twntaipan
Here's my follow-up logic as to why the police is not disclosing more information about the "shooter" (I'm not going to defame our armed forces sniper units).
If the shooter is a "lone nut", there is barely enough local, state and federal law enforcement officers to cover all the "targets of opporunity" while taking care of the usual levels of crime.
If the shooter is a terrorist or a part of a terrorist cell, then the LEOs are woefully understaffed to protect / monitor possible targets, usual levels of crime AND the the very real potential for "street justice" against those whom locals think may be involved with the shootings. This is a significant problem with all the fear ginned un in the communities involved.
On a good day, law inforcement responds to crime - it rarely prevents it. It is a reactionary measure to very bad social behavior. Just imagine if the "offical" word gets out that there are professional terrorists among the population who are acting with near-impunity. That would result in some serious problems for civil and social order.

Isn't that where some of the 9/11 scum got their drivers' licenses?Indeed it is.
For reference, walk 10 minutes from Home Depot and you're at the mosque. Walk another 10 to 15 minutes straight down Rt. 7 and you are at 5913 Leesburg Pike (aka Rt. 7) which is the phoney address used by the 9/11 murderers on their phoney Virginia IDs.
Walk another 10 minutes and you are in Islam central, including several Cynthia McKinney supporters, Islamic associations, and the like.
At 9:15PM, the route described above will take 8 to 12 minutes start to finish (including traffic lights) by car or cream-colored Astro van.
I wonder if the police have been searching the underground parking lots in the Skyline area.
