The Nazis had snipers. These guys are snipers. I can't arguing against that logic.

How come none of the government employees swarming through that place started chasing the killer(s) or shooting back? At 9:15 pm on a Monday night (Federal Holiday), I suspect there weren't that many people out in the stores. Maybe a bunch in the Sports Bars watching MNFootball or MLB playoffs.

how do you ID a Muslim by sight? Scope out a Flight School? sorry :-(
To: txculprit
Also! I am not a culprit anywhere Where does THAT come from??

All of the people killed seem to be well educated, kind people who are examples of caring and virtue in their communities. One was also the son of a retired Montgomery County policeman. Considering the number of people who would not fit this profile, what are the odds that these are the people who keep falling to the assassin's bullet? Troubling. Obituaries make even the worst SOBs sould like great family men. Chances are very high that these are random shootings of unknown victims.

Until the shooting stops, he is only 70% convinced that this is organized terrorism. I, on the other hand, am about 90% convinced, and the reasson for that is the constant stream of denials and alternatives pushed by LE and the media. If 9/11 had never happened, I probably wouldn't feel this way.
I feel the same way, about 90% convinced it is terrorism. I just keep wondering if only one plane had flown into a building on 9/11, would we have ever been told it was ME terrorist?
It these shootings stop and do not spring up in another part of the Country, IMO, we will never know the truth.

doubt the perps have time to surf The perp is clearly watching news coverage and seems to carefully plan the next move. What better place to find intelligent people with excellent thoughts on this, who also know a lot about guns, than FR? I don't think we ought to discount the possibility.

Police should DEFINITELY place high resolution video camers along main arteries. Big Brother HAS GOT to be good for something. Here...this is my point. someone demanding that big brother film our every move.......
Gotta do it because one in millions might die if we don't. Apply that to the rest of your life or even just to driving to work and you'll see my point. The idea that someone might die if big brother doesn't observe our every move is just the beginning, IMHO.
To: Berthold
Is that point to prove he is not a muslim by taking out another mulsim? Not good as plenty muslims have died in the Jihad....they will take their own lives as well, kill their families if need be...on and on and on....The media would never suggest this....they are creating enough trouble as it is....
To: wewillnotfail
Your problem is that you expect people to behave rationally, wewillnotfail.
I haven't found this to be a realistic expectation, especially in large group situations, but that is just me. Your experience may differ.
Even during the Revolution, there were only a handful of people that had the courage to risk all to stand up to tyranny.
There are always a handful, and sometimes they succeed. Many times they do not. I assume you are one of those willing to risk all, but it isn't sensible to expect every citizen to possess the will to follow you.

there is no such thing as a temporary saftey measurement put in place by the government.
To: Peach
Last week I mentioned on FR that my brother has been saying that bad as 9/11 was, it won't be until terrorism hits a Home Depot that people all over will feel unsafe. You know, last night I remembered reading that last week, but didn't remember who had said it!
To: Berthold
good point... coming out of a mosque?
To: sell_propaganda
Well, there's the 'media challenge' for the sniper: take out a muslim And I bet he won't.
To: twigs
The perp is clearly watching news coverage and seems to carefully plan the next move. What better place to find intelligent people with excellent thoughts on this, who also know a lot about guns, than FR? I don't think we ought to discount the possibility. While possible, the overwhelming majority of Americans have never even heard of FreeRepublic. It's mighty unlikely the sniper is lurking here to gain any insight.

One was also the son of a retired Montgomery County policeman. Wonder if he was using his dad's credit card for a purchase?

If the shooter is waiting for targets of opportunity in a preplanned location, then (s)he'd have to choose based on appearance alone.
A prior poster was saying challenge the shooter to target a Muslim, to prove (s)he isn't one. I don't think that's a good idea.
To: sell_propaganda
Of course the media are never going to suggest such an un-PC idea.
To: riri
My friend just heard on CNN radio the police are going to get a composite sketch of the suspect. They had witnesses who saw him. Hopefully soon.
To: wewillnotfail
OK.my bad. No one mentioned "our every move" , only
called for cameras on the street. This kind of talk
just scares the bejeezes outta me.
