We should go back to property qualifications and literacy tests to be able to vote, just like it was when you people floated off from Mass.
Which threw me off guard. When you said "You People," I thought you thought we LIVED in MASS, to which we never ever did. Actually, we came up here from Eglin, Florida.
So, in other words, Maine belonged to Mass at one time? That was WAY before my time. heh!

The Catholic Charities (with the DemocRATS )are working for funding to get these people into Maine. However, once in, if they do not work, they go onto welfare. And we all know who pays for THAT.
Also, the Catholic Religion is mostly DemocRATS. I married hubby, who is Catholic, so I changed to Catholic as well. But we haven't had much to do with the Church in years.
But let me tell you! Hubby and me are NOT DemocRATS! heh!

MY beef is: bringing an influx of immigrants to Maine, the 2nd highest taxed state in the Union: and top of the pole for the poverty level. Yet, "they" keep bringing them into Maine. Like I have said: Lets take care of our own on welfare and our OWN homeless first!
Color of skin never meant anything to me. But when I watched Black Hawk down and you put that name with the Somali's, what does that say? They scare me......I am afraid of this.

That's why I posted this thread. It was on the news yesterday that the Mayor had apologized. I told ozone, what happened there? Did the Mayor and his family receive DEATH THREATS?!
I was really happy to see this article, and that the Mayor did NOT apologize. Like you said: he spoke the truth. I am proud of him.
I wish with all my heart that we could come down. We are up here in Caribou. Hubby just had knee surgery Thursday, and will be off work until November. 
Then, we will be getting into nasty winter. But I sure count on all of you to keep me posted on the FReeps!!! I fight as hard as I can with letter writing, emails and phone calls!
Anything I can do along those lines, please let me know!

One can only hope! That's for sure. But why Maine? Chill brrrrrrrrr why not TEXAS? The weather in Texas would be great for them. Plenty of wide open spaces for them to raise their chickens, etc. Sounds good to me! Can't understand why Maine. The southern states would be MUCH better. And I hear the southern states have more money, too.
