I'm wondering if there is any way to predict what country, or what country's interests, are being targeted.
In many cases it seems like a relationship to the United States.
Some countries have chosen to not be publicly supportive of either the war on terror and/or the opposition to Saddam Hussein. I always thought that was because they didn't want to be targeted. Yet we saw the French tanker hit, after France was so strongly against everything President Bush was trying to do.
Some in Australia have been strongly against President Bush.
I wonder if all this will change public opinion in some of these countries.
Rintense mentioned this in another post, does anyone else have any ideas? What are these terrorists trying to prove in regard to the attacks on other countries? Israel and the United States are plain to see, but some other countries are not so obvious.

One way to look at it is that madmen don't make sense. Who would have expected the French tanker to be targeted? In Australia, the intelligence seems to indicate their energy sector may be at risk of terrorist attack, including power plants, refineries and gas and oil distribution lines.

I read some months ago that the original plan for 9/11 was to attack the USA, Britain, India and Australia simultaneously. Apparently al queda had hijackers in the airport in England ready to go on that morning, but they had to abort when the Brits grounded their planes. Maybe they were planning attacks on the Aussies from the start.

Perhaps all these separate attacks are to get more countries involved in the jihad. On the other hand, maybe we are making it more difficult for attacks on USA or we respond more forcefully so they are not attacking us and therefore attacking others.

Yeah, I sent email to an Aussie about his writings against Prez Bush. I reminded them about PM Chamberlain of England who tried to appease the Nazis. Apparently it didn't do any good since I got an auto-response to my email. I wrote back and said I will go with my President!
