McBride FReep Report--10-12-02 Emerson Point Park
10-12-02

Posted on 10/12/2002 11:59:28 AM PDT by NautiNurse

Bill McBride unveiled his environmental platform on this very warm, sunny Florida afternoon. Location was Emerson Point State Park, a relatively new park on Snead Island, west of Palmetto, at the mouth of the Manatee River and Tampa Bay.

My mother and I braved the "throngs" and "massive crowds" of about 60-70 McBride supporters. Then we moved to back of the crowd, and found five wonderful Jeb supporters with more than enough Jeb! signs to share with us. The other Jeb supporters were members of the Manatee Co. Republicans.

The Jeb! group requested that we not heckle, and my mother and I agreed. We remained quiet as McBride read his talking points about the environment. It was very apparent that he isn't familiar with his environmental platform yet. His head was down looking at his notes most of the time, but his hands were animated! He has the choking hands position down much better than his campaign issues.

My mother pointed to a man with a walking cane, and told me he swung his cane toward her 70 year old shins as she stood quietly with her Jeb! sign. If I had seen that, or if he had tried to swing his cane toward my mother again, all bets were off for a peaceful demonstration. What a weinie! Picking on the eldest (by far) member of our group. Lucky for the jerk, he knew I was watching, and he didn't swing at anyone in our group again. Of course, it didn't hurt that his wife grabbed his cane from him after that.

An 8 year old girl kicked over my Jeb! sign while I was taking photos. I told her quietly that wasn't a nice thing to do, and picked my sign up from the dirt.

True to form, McBride used his hands relentlessly. His girth (obesity) was even more pronounced than I had thought! That man is really FAT!

After McBride finished, he invited everyone, including those of us with the Jeb! signs to join him for refreshments and a chance to chat under the tent. His invitation to us Jeb supporters caused the "massive crowd" of 60-70 to BOO loudly toward us. McBride overrode them, and reiterated his invitation to us because he thought he could change our minds. Nice enough, we all agreed, as we smiled and carried our signs to our cars.

McBride is a very nice, fat puppet.

Lots of fabulous photos later this evening...we have to attend a family function in St. Pete this afternoon.

The Jeb! group requested that we not heckle, and my mother and I agreed.

This is why Jeb Bush is going to lose.

These are the same type of Republicans who told me at a Republican meeting on November 9, 2000 that we, i.e., Republicans should not counterprotest Jesse Jackson in front of the West Palm Beach Court House the next day.

They told me that "Republicans don't act that way"

I told them that is why Clinton was not removed - because the Republicans sat on the sidelines. I told them if we do not get in the streets against Jesse Jackson or whomever, we can start saying hello to President Gore.

About 6 of those 100+ in the audience at the Pubblie Club meeting joined me and other Florida Freepers the next day.

We all ran Jesse out of town and out of the post election BS.

Having said that, I realize you were the Freeper on the spot and my kudos for doing a Freep but I get the impression that you were not going to be so docile until they asked you not to heckle and then you changed your mind.

Just my two cents and I again compliment your Freeping.

Next time, do what you think is best rather than what the Republicans ask you.

I brought my family down for the protest at the whatever palm beach county commisioners building to make damn sure the dims didn't steel the election from Mr. Bush. Hadn't been to a protest since 1972 in D.C.We got there early and stayed late. I have pictures. I had the sign that said that the whole world is watching. Wife and son had never been to a protest of any kind. I had never seen Repubs. act like that but had we not, algore would now be pres. My family and I and especially those that charged the Miami counting are all partly responsible. Those 4 or 5 thousand protesters impressed the hell out of me.

Yep, we all did good.

Could you imagine how different today would be if Gore became President......I shudder at the thought!

Thanks for the post NautiNurse. Looking forward to the pics. Lots of sweat?:)

The attempted caning of your mother is despicable! I thought that was the punishment of choice in the Philipines, not at political rallies in the USA. It sounds like HE was lucky that he missed!

Thanks for being there NautiNurse! You guys were classy. With this small crowd and McBride putting on a "nice" act (we know the real McBride...his handlers must have warned him the voters disapproved), you did good, imho.

Seeking the truth, we've responded with speed, facts and energy to most every lying word out of McBride and the leftist press for months. NautiNurse didn't get her name by being nice. (^: We know McBride's far left agenda and we aim to make sure that the rest of Florida knows it, too.

STT, Jeb is not going to lose. Your experience and physical presence would help (hint).

NN, McBride is not nice.

No thanks, I have my Jeb sign up in my front yard and I've given out about a dozen Jeb signs to neighbors. That's the extent of my work for Jeb.

Keep the good work!

Maybe if he does somthing of a conservative nature in these next three weeks, I'll be more interested.

Thus far, he seems to be running for Commissioner of Education rather than Governor!

Hey, what do I know? Look how well he's doing in the polls - its now a statistical dead heat according to the last one! Running those McBride ads in the last 2-3 weeks before the Dem Primary was one of the most brain dead things I've ever seen. Using one's war chest to further the name recognition of an unknown opposing party's primary challenger is........oh well.

BTW, I drove thru 5 counties yesterday. Saw lots of McBride signs and nary a one Jeb sign.....doesn't look good.

Jeb turned his back on Florida conservatives a long time ago and no conservative I know is doing more than the minimum for him.

BTTT. We'll behave until the pics are up. By the way, the Rally in Tampa before the Bucs Game is supposed to be two hours before the game. The game was changed from 4:15 and will be at 1:00 p.m.

That puts the Jeb Rally at Columbus Dr. and Dale Mabry at about 11:00 a.m. I'll be there with my large, red Jeb sign and my "Thank God I Voted for Bush" baseball cap.

PLEASE PING YOUR LISTS so that they don't show up WAY LATE for the Rally. Thanks, FV

There was no coverage of the big McBride PTA rally in Largo today. I was sure Bay News 9 would be all over that pic-a-nic. I guess even Bay News 9 isn't wasting valuable air time on the guy who's gonna lose. They even said that on the Beltway Boys on FNC just now.

Drink the dem kool-aid and you'll change your mind... Step this way... LOL I can't believe how mean the dems are, even the children. That wasn't a very big crowd IMO. The Women for Jeb Rally had 1200K women.

McB just can't energize anyone to get excited about him and now we find out that he's a really big boy? Maybe he wears a girdle when he's on tv.

Looking forward to the Jeb Rally tomorrow. NOW THAT WILL BE PACKED, I HOPE, unless there's rain.

Someone woke up on the wrong side of Free Republic today. If we were all negative, then Jeb would not be up by 6 points and that's the Miami Herald/St. Pete Times poll. I'm sure other polls show a double digit separation.

I think nauti did the right thing. It was a small crowd and the dems can't go home and say how mean the pubbies were unless they lie about it. It won't make any headlines for them in other words. Another non-event and we're lucky to have a report; especially about santa bill. LOL

I'm speechless. That Commie institution CATO had this to say about our Governor:

Wall Street Journal Commentary..rates the governors, Jeb's a winner!

***Jeb Bush of Florida is the real tax-cutting fiscal conservative in the family. In a state with no income tax, Gov. Bush has cut the Florida property tax by $1 billion, and in 2001 he cut the business intangible tax by another $600 million. Earlier this year he took the unusual step of walking the halls of the Capitol himself asking members of both parties to oppose a sales tax hike sponsored by members of his own party. Mr. Bush has also distinguished himself by promoting one of the most innovative choice-based school reforms in the nation -- a plan that allows students in failing schools to go to any public or private school of their choice -- and by enacting tort reform legislation fiercely opposed by the trial lawyers.

I'm sorry he doesn't meet the high standards of the head of the Florida Freepers.

NautiNurse didn't get her name by being nice.

You can say that again! Summed up the situation, and determined the best method for that group. Our silence drove them mad. We were, indeed, a class act.

Seeking tt--McBride was so astounded by our presence that he recognized us, and called down his own Booing crowd because we were awesome in our smiling, screaming silence.

Thanks for your support. We're getting so much help down here. Sorry for the sarcasm, but I'm p.o.ed.

What if Clinton had never been elected Gov. of Arkansas? How many Republicans stayed home that election because the Rep. candidate didn't meet their standards? How many bought the "Mr. Moderate" act shoveled by the leftist press. Clinton could have been stopped in Arkansas.

McBride and his wife are political animals...Bill and Hillary the second. We're doing what we can against them with very little support from the hundreds of Florida Freepers, some of whom are actively working to hurt Jeb. So our Freeps don't meet the high standards of those who are not helping. We're mocked by the head of the Florida Freepers for even helping Jeb. In spite of this, we will work our tails off to defeat McBride and elect Jeb....with all our imperfections, but with heart and no small amount of brains. rant over

You sure you want McAuliffe's buddy recognizing you? You don't own a cat, do you? (^:

Look what the Rats are up to all over the state:

No Jeb signs in your neighborhood?

Rat handiwork.
Stay home, they win.
