Roger has something approaching godlike status in Texas, and especially in Dallas. If he wanted, he could EASILY have been the next Senator from Texas.

Kirk is toast.

Ah, yes. Roger the Dodger — my biggest hero since my childhood. Staubach is the reason I became a life-long Dallas Cowboys fan even though I've never even been to Dallas (ex NJ/NY, in L.A. for many years). One of the all-time great quaterbacks, especially considering the fact that he gave up the early part of his career to keep his commitment to the Navy. Sigh. Football was never quite the same for me once he retired.
