***DC Sniper Sounds Like It Could Be Kid***
Stardate: 0210.11

Posted on 10/11/2002 4:39:24 AM PDT by The Wizard

After looking at the patterns, it strikes me this could be A KID, and that the 13 old might know who was involved or was involved himself and was shot to keep quite......

1. the shooter shot adults, (parents)

2. always done by the time a kid should be home

3. the first rampage seemed to happen while a young person would have been away from home without notice, (in school)

4. no action last weekend when they would have been with their folks....

Have you notified the proper authorities? This could be the break they've been waiting for.

Hey, cut a little slack. At least it's not in breaking news.

Those were the reasons they gave for it being a married man. Not during working hours, not on weekends when home with the family.....etc.

Had a caller into the Schnitt show (talk radio) identify himself as a Desert Storm sniper. He felt the DC sniper was a young (under 25) non-military type. More of a hunter (or sniper wannabe) than a military sniper. Just the range of the shots indicated the shooter was not that good, and that a real military sniper would be out well over 500 yards, where this guy was 300 yds or less. The caller appeared credible and his argument made sense. Open to discussion...

My God, you listen to the Schit Show?

That guy's voice drives me up a wall! Sometimes, I forget to turn off 610 after Rush's show is over and Schit comes on.

Schit happens.

But seriously, the .223 has an enormous range, but loses power rapidly with range. That doesn't affect its ability to penetrate a paper target, but it diminishes its ability to kill. I'm pretty sure military snipers who operate at 600 yards plus use a much heaver and more powerful load.

Trivia point......Did you know that Basil Rathbone only wore the deerstalker hat in the first two films made by MGM and in none of the universal movies...

I agree, he is quite shrill, and not the know-it-all he clams to be. However, it's better than some of the other stuff on at my drive time (although there are time I take silence over his diatribe). Sometimes, even a fool can stumble upon wisdom...

None of the shootings seem to be within 30-45 minutes of daily prayer time.

It's been my theory all along (older teens to very young adults). To me, it would explain how a 13 year old could have been shot, because he would be seen as a peer instead of a "kid".

The only difference is that I think they're two. They alternate between being driver and shooter which would explain the differences encountered in the shootings MO.

The most skilled shoots to the head from inside the van and never misses his victims, the other one hasn't succeeded in killing yet and shoots his victims lower, and from outside the van. Both kids are bored with violent video games and surf the net a lot. (See my other posts for the lurkers theory which would explain the message left on the Tarot card)

Of course, it's just another speculation, and at this point any speculation is just as good or bad as another!
