"What's a clymer?" LOL! During the 2000 campaign Bush and Cheney made a joint appearance. They noticed in the crowd Adam Clymer, a New York Times reporter notorious for spinning stories to the left. A microphone picked up an aside to the effect that Mr. Clymer is a real jerk. The media tried to play it up to embarrass Bush and Cheney, but the subsequent interviews of Mr. Clymer seemed to confirm their opinion, so the subject was dropped.
So now, for members of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy, "clymer" is a synonym for jerk or worse.
