Germany arrests man on suspicion of Sept 11 link

BERLIN, Oct 10 (Reuters) - German authorities said on Thursday they had arrested a Moroccan man on suspicion of involvement in the September 11 attacks on the United States.

Police arrested 29-year-old Abdelghani Mzoudi in the northern port city of Hamburg on Thursday after a formal arrest warrant was issued on Wednesday, the Federal State Prosecutor said in a statement.

Mzoudi was arrested on suspicion of providing logistical help for Mohamed Atta and other suicide hijackers involved in the attacks on New York and Washington that killed nearly 3,000 people, the statement said.

Atta and two of the other hijackers lived for a time in Hamburg.
