(Raleigh, North Carolina-AP) -- State police in North Carolina say they're looking for a former resident -- but won't confirm or deny a connection to a string of killings in Maryland and Washington.

A Raleigh, North Carolina, newspaper, the News and Observer, reports that a bulletin was issued for Robert Gene Baker the third, formerly of Raleigh.

The paper says the bulletin describes Baker as a drug user affiliated with various militia and white supremacist groups.

The newspaper reports he might be traveling in a white van with dark lettering and a Maryland registration.
