WASHINGTON Click on a Democratic National Committee Web site and watch an animated image of President Bush pushing a wheelchair-bound individual off a cliff.
Not once, but twice.
Designed as a combination attack on Social Security and fund-raising appeal, the cartoon says, "Bush and Republicans still want to push their privatization plans through Congress." The narration is audible above the noise of a woman shrieking in horror as her wheelchair crashes.

Let's see, accusing Bush wanting to
murder the elderly is on the same plane as pointing out a stupid and dangerous vote by Tim Johnson.
We even go out of our way in our ad to not question Johnson's patriotism. But, we always must be the ones who play nice, mustn't we?

I think it will backfire, but the cartoon is nothing new. It's what they say all the time. (I thought the cartoon was hilarious myself.)

Either the Democrats are always set in FULL-ATTACK mode, or they are seeing their internal poll numbers slide and they are afraid of another 1994.

What we have to recognized is they KNEW we would scream about that ad. The more we complain, the more free media play it gets. The smart thing to do is just laugh at it and debate it on the issues. (6% small investment by young people does not "privatization" make - call them on the lie, not the tactics)
You must admit it is funny.

It would be funny if the voters weren't so gullible. This will scare seniors. When the DNC went into the inner cities during the 2000 election and said that George Bush would send them back to slavery...black children cried across the nation, they were terrified. It's low. It spreads hate. It's domestic terrorism.
Remember when the mainstream press had a group hissy-fit over imagined GOP dirty tricks after finding the word RAT in bureaucRAT? Yet they laugh at this. Not funny. Dan, Katie, Peter, Donohue, Sreisand...not funny. If we could strip them of their mighty, anti-American pens, get our neighbors to drive these folks to the airport with a one-way tickets to N. Korea by sunset - maybe funny.

There are two sides to every wound; the entry and the exit. There is always backlash to these kinds of campaigns. The 'RATS will end up regretting their decision.

I know and I agree to a point. The irony of this one, imo, is they are really pushing THEMSELVES off a cliff. I mean, NO ONE is going to think that is fair campaigning. So, yeah, I laugh because it is funny; but I also laugh because this is going to blow up in their faces BIG TIME. No one is THAT gullible. I'm going to enjoy watching the decline. hahahaha!
The beautiful irony of freedom in this case is that your enemy is free to self-destruct!
It will be interesting also to see if this one gets as much prime-time media play as the RAT commercial did. (and that one was a totally manufactured problem)
To: One_Upmanship
I agree 100%. That's why I am laughing. They self-destruct without us lifting a finger. It's sweet.

A lot more can be done with humor than out and out vitriol. Hope the powers that be in the RNC try it. At least we should be amused during the horrific weeks ahead. Is that too much to ask?

The cartoon is dispicable and vile. I left a statement of protest on their website and urge every Freeper to do the same. They should not be allowed to get away with this. These turds need to be taught proper manners.

A spokesman for the Democratic National Committee, Bill Buck, called the cartoon a "humorous take on a serious issue."
Bill Buck, you're a numb -uck.

Especially since W strikes everyone in the polls as a murderer......
To: winin2000
The Democrats are freaking out.
They are getting NO traction at all, and with Jumpin Jeffords doing his thing, some people are mighty pissed.
The independents who vote either way, see what the democrats have been and are doing, and the Democrats are going to suffer for it in November.
They swing the vote, and they are going to swing it our way this time, and there is NOTHING that the rats can do, so they are going into full frontal assault mode. Too bad that this time they are suiciding. Because the more they do it, the more they are going to suffer.
I am loving watching them self destruct. We can afford to be nice, they're doing our work for us!!

"Especially since W strikes everyone in the polls as a murderer...... "Well good, let them freak out while he defends this Great Nation against those who would destroy it. If we had the alternative in the White House, we'd be sitting around a campfire singing Kumbuyah to some spotted owls, waking up at 4AM to a meyzen muezzin.
