REV. JERRY FALWELL CALLS THE PROPHET MOHAMMED 'A TERRORIST'
The Rev. Jerry Falwell will call Islams founder and most sacred figure, Mohammed, "a terrorist" on 60 MINUTES this Sunday night, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
I think Mohammed was a terrorist. I read enough
by both Muslims and non-Muslims, [to decide] that he was a violent man, a man of war, Falwell tells CBS. In my opinion
Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses, and I think Mohammed set an opposite example.
Falwell hits total controversy while affirming the Christian Rights steadfast support for the state of Israel against its Islamic enemies.
The interview with CBS reporter Bob Simon, in which Falwell hints that the Christian Right influences U.S. government policy toward Israel, has been set for broadcast, network sources say.
MORE
Falwell sent a personal protest to President Bush, and the White House received 100,000 e-mail protests from Christians when Bush urged Israel to remove its forces from Palestinian towns earlier this year. Falwell believes Bush is well aware of the Christian constituency. There are 70 million of us
[and] theres nothing that would bring the wrath of the Christian public in this country down on this government like abandoning or opposing Israel on a critical matter, Falwell tells Simon.
Falwell and conservative Christians support the Israelis and condemn their enemies because they believe the triumph of Israel is Gods will. The Jews return to their ancient homeland and sole ownership of the territories Arabs and Israelis both lay claim to -- is a precondition for the second coming of Christ, according to the Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians interpretation of the Bible. The Biblical scenario is not a savory one for many Jews, however. God save us from these people, says Israeli political analyst Yossi Alpher. When you see what these people are encouraging Israel and the U.S. to do
ignore the Palestinians, kick them out
they are leading us into a scenario of out-and-out disaster, he tells Simon.
But disaster is part of the scenario. Many Fundamentalist Evangelicals believe there will be catastrophic events on earth, some occurring already, including the turmoil in the Middle East, culminating in the Battle of Armageddon in which Christ will triumph and begin ruling the earth. At this point, they believe, non-believers will be destroyed, good Christians saved and any remaining Jews converted to Christianity.
Says Ed McAteer, a founder of the Moral Majority and known as the godfather of the Christian Right, I believe that we are seeing prophecy unfold so rapidly and dramatically and wonderfully, and, without exaggeration, [it] makes me breathless.

A wiser strategy is to be publicly agreeable, while working feverish behind the scenes to promote your agenda and kill the Dems. [kill the Dems' agenda, that is.] That's the fun of politics, isn't it? You can't just have a great idea, you have to have a great implementation and cautious "tact". To be honest, I don't really care if I'm right or wrong, I just want a "champion" to stand up and rise to power. I want the unAmerican Marxists brought to trial and sentenced. I want the Universities to teach REAL history. I want them to teach the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence. I want our culture to be strong and united. That's all......

First it was Bush and Powell "religion of peace" ; we don't want to offend the mythical moderates. Now, these guys including Graham should keep their mouth shut because of the election.
There'll always be expedient reasons to shade the truth; more power to these guys for speaking their minds and reflecting what a lot of Americans, even those who would not usually agree with them, are thinking and are gratified to hear.

How very sad. These are demonic and schizophrenic murderers. Evil has been unleashed like it never has before. But so has God's mercy. We'll see more and more of this and God will pour out HIS spirit as well in these end times.

This slaughter is nothing compared to what the Pakistani army did in Bangladesh in 1971. According the UN report, 1.5 million Hindus were slaughtered.
In islam a Hindu is even less then a Christian or Jew.

To be fair, KH, they killed even more of their fellow muslims who happened to be Bengalis (Banglas). Regardless, they systemactically slaughtered millions, by machine guns mainly, for weeks and months on end. Our allies, the Pakistanis. Just scum, bile raising scum who do not deserve to ever feel the sun's rays again. But here's a little good work by the Indians....

Obviously, you didn't read his words on the 9/11 issue and the gays. He was simply making a point of how America has degenerated to a lifestyle that is "pro" anything you want to do is ok, even if it is against GOD's law. Christians believe there is a price to be paid for sin and that is why he made the statements he did. He was not intimating that the people killed by the terrorists deserved to die, but the protective hand of GOD was being withdrawn because of our lifestyles and our pulling away from HIS laws.
He is a preacher of the WORD of GOD, he is supposed to say what is right and written in the Bible. He is not a politician, even Jesus said the world would hate us for wjat we stood for.
To: knighthawk
When asked, he had to say it. Franklin Graham, another Baptist, blasted Islam earlier and even though the muslims in America howled, Graham wouldn't back down. It doesn't help to back away from the truth. (Although I'm sure the media was setting Falwell up for some quotes they could use.)

but the protective hand of GOD was being withdrawn because of our lifestyles and our pulling away from HIS laws. That's not what he said. And, if he had said that, he would have still been wrong. But, whatever he said, he apologized for saying it several days later.
Falwell has no tact. He blurts out the most outrageous stuff, which may contain some truth, but the words make him look like a bigot.
To: Man of the Right
I am quite aware of the statistics you quote. I am also quite aware of the genocide commited against Christians in many of the lands you mention including Sudan most recently and other nations of the middle east over the hundreds of years. I am not sure what relevance these statistics have to the discussion of spies from within the muslim network of terror. And terror it is, from its inception - mohamed appealed to the baser instincts of the arabs and this false ideology is as dangerous as imperialistic Marxism leninism etc. ever was. I base my comments on my personal knowledge of muslems both here in the USA and abroad. It seems to me that you are wishfully hoping for the reasonable muslims to aid in their own destruction - won't happen becusae there is no reason within the muslim ideology. Read my post about divide and conquer. That strategy will help.

Just calling a spade a spade. Falwell is right.

Falwell to the extent he is a bigot is a good hearted and genial one. I can't find it within me to loathe him too much.

We're probably not going to reach a consensus.
You see Islam as a monolith. It isn't.
There are fanatical Muslims. Also, there are Muslims who don't believe everything they are told by clerics (indeed dislike clerics), don't accept every tenet of the Koran, don't attend the Mosque, oppose the adoption of Muslim law and fundamentalism, let alone Al-Qaeda, and don't hate the U.S.
Ever traveled in the Moslem world? There are places we wouldn't survive 15 minutes as Americans. There are other places where we would be totally safe, indeed given sanctuary, if ever threatened.
The U.S. government is already altering the politics of the U.S. Muslim movement through homeland defense. Most Muslims came to the U.S. to improve their quality of life, not to wage holy war. Local Muslim opinion is moving to the left as they see radicals being incarcerated or harassed. As a marginal minority, they are dependent on protection by the U.S. government. What do you think was the primary intelligence source regarding the Buffalo Al-Qaeda cell? Jerry Falwell? It was local Muslims.

Osama Bin Laden is admired, worshipped and honored throughout most of the muslim world.
Let's hear it as it is! Go Falwell.

What do you think was the primary intelligence source regarding the Buffalo Al-Qaeda cell? Jerry Falwell? It was local Muslims. Funny you should say this...that's what the media has been fed but the truth is far more sinister. Without going into details I can tell you that the mentality in the Lackawanna Yemeni community is what is called a beehive mentality. It is united by blood ties you wouldn't believe. And with the spread of fundamentalism it is even more bound up with extremist Islam. After all, Osama is one of their own - a Yemeni father.
No, the cell was not discovered with Muslim help. Far from it. Local Muslims have united behind their "good boys" and combined with the local left wing academics and peaceniks are putting up a good defense.
I'll put it simply for you so you can understand: when 9-11 happened, there was jubilation in Lackawanna.
I will give you this: the only muslims that can assist the US are those who have escaped Islamic regimes bent on Arabization and extermination by rival sects (Shia vs Sunni et al and the mess with the Baathists). But the US would be mistaken to trust them 100%.
