So, what's the thinking here at FR? Will the NJSC allow Lautenberg to run, and if so, will the Republicans appeal to the USSC?

My opinion is a possibility of two possible scenarios.
1. The Dem's already knew how the court would rule (it is majority dem) the Dem's win, the GOP appeals and the USSC decides to hear it based on the fact that military ballots have been sent and absentee ballots have already come back. The USSC rules in favor of the GOP and Dem's use it to say the GOP stole the vote again, blah blah blah.
2. The NJSC has integrity and tells the Dem's to stuff it. The Dem's appeal to the USSC citing voter minority voters being kept from voting blah blah blah, the USSC rules as they did in 2000, that laws apply first and foremost. Again the Dem's use it as a GOP stole the vote crap.
Either way, this is Florida Part II, it remains to be seen which party gets the most out of public opinion.

Surprise outcome: They will rule Lousenberg "incompetent" and unfit for office. Sheesh, I listened to his announcement speech and was astounded by his incoherency. Did anyone even tell him about the potential war in IRAQ? One would think that a person living in N.J. would have been aware of the terrorist attacks as well. All he said, and he didn't do a good job, is that he is against pollution, for a women's right to have unfettered abortions, and that Republicans are evil and only New Jersey can prevent the GOP takeover of the Senate.

I think too, that if we continue to have these kind of (fabricated) election brouhahas, it won't be long before we have the likes of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson et al., rioting in the streets.
