Torricelli is lying (Plus, I think this is all a ploy)

First Torecelli is lying his rear-end off. I'll bet those names that he saw in the desk he was sitting at are not there. This should be easy to verify whether Humphries, Fulbright, and Morse signed the same desk.
Second, I'll bet the Sadat story is BS as well.
More importantly, I'll bet that he is not actually resigning. He will announce that he is, but he will not actually do it. Then, next week, the Governor will announce that the law will not allow them to do what they want to do.
Meanwhile, Torecelli will have been going around giving his sob story and telling everyone what a great patriot and congressman he was.
He will then say, well, for the sake of New Jersey he will stay in the race.
The race will no longer have been about his corruption, but about his lifelong service, etc.
Just my thoughts.

The Clinton stuff is making me naseous. Clinton's voice cracked? Isn't that what happens when he's feeling your pain. Major projectile vomiting alert.

Brilliant post, Rodney
What is the Sadat business? Some kind of silliness from his press conference? I'll check out the latest articles.

I have never wished suicide on any..always thought it was stupid. But you know, if there was ever a candidate for it, the Torch it.

You heard it hear first!! This is all a ploy. Torecelli is not resigning. He has asked his lawyers to make a motion to remove his name from the ballot. This can't be done. Therefore he is in. Meanwhile, he has gotten all of this great press about what a good guy he is, and how Clinton's voice cracked at the thought of Torecelli not being in the Senate(Don't forget, Clinton is popular in New Jersey).
To: Rodney King
No that is not likely. The Torch was told to drop out or the Democrats would put him in jail for his crimes.
He is dropping out and resigning. Then the Democratic governor will appoint his replacement. Since that Governor his a Democrat he will be will appoint a Democrat to replace the Torch. Then that sitting democrat senator will petition the democratic court to put him on the ballot in November.
He will do so and Forrester will be running against a popular Democrat.
What this means is the Democrats are certain they can't hold the Senate without the New Jersey seat. That means the polls elsewhere look good for Republicans. If that were not the case they would not have used a sledgehammer to make the torch drop out.
The question is how will voters react to that ploy. Most likely being New Jersey they will vote for the Democrat.

Oh dear Lord, Clinton's voice was cracking? Where was
Monica? Or her replacement? We all know that Bill Clinton
could talk on the phone and do other things. I don't think
that is the 'multi-tasking' we all strive for...hahaha.

Swaggert.......Patton..........Torricelli........what a crybaby........Momma's boy crying.........
The light of truth has set him free
To: Common Tator
Then that sitting democrat senator will petition the democratic court to put him on the ballot in November. Yes, but they will lose, and Torcelli will be on the ballot. And now, every soccer mom in New Jersey loves the guy.

Yours is the best analysis I have read of the day's events.
I think you are correct. And I hope the gullible voters don't fall for this.
To: Rodney King
I found the news conf. thread. This is great.
To: Stingray51
This is going to go down in the history books as the greates move ever. The Torch will be on the ballot, and he will win as he has now totally shifted the election to abortion, etc.
To: Rodney King
This is the ONLY way Torch can win.
Isn't it interesting how the Dumbocrats run to the courts every time the law is against them?
And of course Torricelli was lying. His lips were moving, weren't they?

Always the Negative Nancy! How cynical can you get? I mean, in terms of a politician keeping his word, how could you even think that the Torch or Jim Jeffords would...uh...fib...um...
He did? Never mind...
To: Billthedrill
Watch, I predict that he will be on the ballot, and that he will win.
To: Rodney King
I fear you are right about the ploy..The courts will say it's too late and sympathetic dems will vote for Torch thinking he will either resign or really is "best" for NJ after the laundry list he laid out.

Does the torch get retirement by fulfilling his term and not resigning his Senate seat now?
To: an opinion
