Bush 'stole election and poisoned democracy'
Madrid - US actress Jessica Lange says she "hates" President George Bush's administration and regards a possible attack on Iraq as "unconstitutional, immoral and illegal", Spanish press reports said on Thursday.
The 53-year-old Oscar-winning actress lambasted the US government at a press conference at the San Sebastian film festival, where she received a lifetime achievement award.
"What Bush intends to do with Iraq is unconstitutional, immoral and illegal," Lange was quoted as saying.
"I hate Bush. I despise him and his entire administration - not only because of its international policy, but also the national. Today it makes me feel ashamed to come from the United States - it is humiliating."
'The atmosphere in my country is poisonous' "Bush stole the elections and since then we have all been suffering the consequences. The Iraq plan is absolutely mad, but what I do not understand is that nobody tries to stop it - neither inside nor outside the United States," the actress added.
"The atmosphere in my country is poisonous, intolerable for those of us who are not right-wing, so thank you for inviting me to this festival and allowing me to get out for a few days," Lange said on receiving the Donostia Prize, presented by Spanish actor Jose Coronado.
She also slammed Hollywood and said she preferred to work in Europe. - Sapa-DPA
To talk about this military campaign being an illegal act is hypocrisy since we did not hear such talk about Clinton's first strike wars that did not pose any threats (as even Bush dectractors are aware of the threat from Saddam).
4 words to consider when a leftist mentions legality: "No controlling legal authority".
If you can pin them down on the issues when they first heard those words, you'll catch them for the partisan rats that they are.
"I do not have any contact with Jessica or her representatives so I cannot get any messages to her.
You can try writing to her agency:
Jessica Lange C/O Creative Artists Agency 9830 Wilshire Blvd Beverly Hills CA 90212"
This may be the best way to reach Jessica personally.
Fine ... leave. Stay in Spain where they apparently like you for some unGodly reason.
"Bush stole the elections and since then we have all been suffering the consequences," Lange told the enthusiastic crowd.
Same tired old argument.
Although Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg have recently spoken out in support of Bush's proposed attack on Iraq, Lange joins a growing list of stars who have questioned or condemned it, including Barbra Streisand, Susan Sarandon and Alec Baldwin. Lange's spokeswoman had no further comment.
Gee ... there's a surprise. /sarcasm
But she added that it's perfectly O.K. for the Dem Party in New Jersey to unconstitutionally and illegally steal the N.J. senate seat because her immoral candidate is losing.
I think people forget that much of this crowd lives in a cloistered world of expensive, well-guarded homes, shop in very expensive, exclusive shops and vacation at exclusive resorts that cost up to US$10,000 per night and beyond. They are, in effect, elites that totally don't understand how the struggles of the average American worker.
Neither is Jessica. Stand her on her head and you have a brunette.
Usted odia el presidente, yo pensó que el odio no es un valor de la familia. Usted debe ir a España y convertirse en un viejo cuervo, nadie cuida lo que usted piensa.
"You hate the president, I thought that hate is not a family value. You should move to Spain and to become an old crow, nobody cares what you think."
I never saw it appear (when the message count reached 199 it never got higher). Today there is none of Kristin's whining about moving the conversation to the message board and yet there are still PRO Spain speech comments in the guest book. It's her page and she'll do as she pleases but let it be an example of how the left forms opinions (there can be no dissent tolerated). To move all of the comments out of the guestbook would make it appear that no one agreed with her (as people would have to search for the appropriate thread in the message board).
I posted a new thread asking what happened to the dissent (and included a genuine email address).
Kristin again deleted the new thread and has still retained supportive comments about the Spain speech in the guestbook and on her message board.
She needs to be freeped again. Maybe to her mailbox or maybe to her other threads.
She has deleted any trace (including her responses) that there has been any dissent. Sounds like she can't honestly defend the statements.
At least she left the country; unlike a certain Alec Baldwin, who shall remain nameless, who said he'd leave but never did.
Oops...
Did I say Alec Baldwin? My bad.
Mission accomplished.
