Yes, but it's still too early to tell if that is good news or bad news.
Did they turn it down because they knew it would look bad, or did they turn it down because some political "untouchable" (e.g. Lisa Beamer, though I don't mean to slander her) is going to get the nod?
Did they turn it down because they knew it would look bad Most likely, because they'd be giving up their sure chances of election to the House for a toss-of-the-dice chance at the Senate.
Nobody in their right mind would do that. It'd have to be somebody who's not currently in office.
I also heard the rumor about Beamer. I am hoping she also turns them down.
