ANTI-FLAG
ME

Posted on 09/30/2002 7:44:20 AM PDT by MotleyGirl70

Sunday morning I woke and went to Micky D’s to get my husband a big breakfast and some other kind of breakfast food (I bought myself a large coffee).

As I waited in line behind 100,000,000 other people I looked to my left and saw three boys; I’d say they couldn’t have been older than 16 years old. Description of said white punks listed below:

Boy 1: Frizzed out hair, John Lennon glasses and a jacket that was infested with pins and patches. One of those patches read: “Anti-Flag”. (this set me off)

Boy 2: Blue hair, chubby and he had a top hat on.

Boy 3: Let’s just say my cat craps bigger stool than this little twerp.

So as I was waiting in line I asked Boy 1; “What’s up with that patch, Anti-Flag?”

He said; “It’s a band.”

I said “Are you anti-American?”

The punk said; “Yes”

I said “Why?”

To which he said: “Vietnam, WWI and WWII did us no good. America kills the innocent.”

At this point my blood is boiling and I’m ready to punch this punk in the face and my food order is soon to be picked up.

I said; “I don’t give a shit what you think. When you get a job; and start paying taxes and contribute something to society your opinion doesn’t mean shit. So take your 60’s peace mentality and shove it up your ass. If you three represent the future of America, it scares me, it scares me very much. You want to want to be “anti-American”, go tell your b.s. to a United States veteran who fought for the very freedom you have.” (….I wanted to go on but I had to pick up my order and leave. I got a “nod” from some guy waiting in line in agreement with my confrontation with this kid.)

At that point I picked up my order, they left and I made my exit.

Is this the future of America? Anti-Flag?

Can I add one because I was like these kids? Something isn't right at home and in an attempt to get attention they sh*t all over their parents, usually conservative, values in an effort to gain attention. Speaking unfortunately from experience.

"My son went and seen this band last Friday night in D.C., the band members got the crowd fired-up by saying anti-George Bush slogans, my son says he can still like their music even though he doesn't agree with their politics."

"went and seen"? Good grief.

What a "peaceful" bunch. Shows you just how inconsistant that teen was. No doubt mom and dad purchase this garbage--as long as junior gets good grades right? I mean after all, doesn't good grades=good character? (barf)

I said... "get a job; and start paying taxes and contribute something to society..." I wanted to go on but I had to pick up my order and leave.

If this kid is working the counter at McDonalds, then I'd wager to guess that he actually does have a job - either that, or McDonalds is now staffed by volunteers, which I doubt.

BTW, I am sorry you were forced to confront a teenager with a rock group pin on his t-shirt - from the sounds of things the experience was quite traumatic for you.

You should probably stock up on canned goods and bottled water and keep to the back country roads until this "rock'n'roll" fad blows over.

You missed the whole point of this thread. But since you seem too stupid to figure it out, I'll just leave you to interpret it as some "traumatic incident" for me or a "rock n roll" fad.

This thread is obviously way over head. Please move along.

You missed the whole point of this thread.

When I hand someone money, and they hand me food, here's what I say: "Thank You."

Try it sometime.

What are you talking about?

When you purchase food in a restaurant, it is generally considered polite to thank the person who serves it to you.

Some people believe that this sort of common courtesy does not apply in the fast-food environment - fair enough.

So if you are one of those who believes that plunking down $4.39 for the jumbo-sized extra value meal entitles you to take some stupid teenager to task for his fashion faux-pas, by all means go for it!

IMHO, you're wasting your breath - after all, this is just some stupid teenager making minimum wage, if he actually took pride in the food or the service he'd be working at a real restaurant instead.

Really? Saying "thank you" makes me "libetarian"? Gosh, a lot sure has changed since I grew up...

What about "please" and "excuse me"? Are those "libetarian" code words as well?

LOL.

I think if you read the original post, you would be able to find out if the kids were working McD's, and also about Motley's original interest in them was an "Anti-Flag".

So, you defend these people who are anti-American?

Motley is right, you are a liberal, at best.

I think if you read the original post, you would be able to find out if the kids were working McD's

I read the original post and noted that the kids were indeed working at McDonald's , which was why I was confused by Motley's comment to the effect that they needed get jobs and pay taxes.

As far as I know, McDonald's does pays its employees and the paychecks that McDonald's disburses are subject to state & federal tax.

Motley's original interest in them was an "Anti-Flag"

When I ride the bus to work, I notice that about one out a hundred people will similarly take issue with the hairstyle/clothing/etc. of the bus driver, and will kick up a fuss in an attempt to engage the bus driver in a dispute.

What these "special attention required" passengers don't seem to realize is that the busdriver in question is probably overworked, poorly paid, is undoubtedly performing a service for them, and and probably deals with more than a thousand people per day.

I often wonder what it is about these "special case" passengers that causes them to imagine that the busdriver is going to put all of the other dozens of people waiting board the bus on hold so that he can personally debate his clothing which each and every obstreperous passenger who chooses to take issue with it.

What usually hapopens is that the busdriver says something like "Look, I don't have time for this nonsense. Are you going to get on the bus, or not?"

So, you defend these people who are anti-American?

I have a bit more sympathy for fast food workers, then I do for deluded patrons who imagine that their $4.39 entitles them to debate tsome pimply-faced teen at the counter about something that has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the junk food. .

Motley is right, you are a liberal, at best.

No, I'm just used to living in a big city where most people are too busy for this sort of stuff.

I read she was in line and looked to the left and saw these kids. I guess to me it indicated they were in line, also. Yep, I agree, it is a fashion these days, but in this case, MotleyGirl actually outted them as being anti American. In this case, I think she was right on. If you know MG70, you would know she wouldn't pick a fight based on attire or looks, etc.
