'Packing' for trip just invites trouble
September 27 2002
Jim Spencer
Homeboy tightened the Velcro strap on the holster around his ankle and shoved in a snub-nosed semiautomatic pistol.
My God, I said, as I walked in the room, what are you doing?
"Packing," he said.
I can see that, I told him. You must be headed to downtown Newport News where those three guys got murdered and three others got wounded last weekend.

People can argue any way they want about guns, pro or con. If some people wish to be victims, then that is their right, but they have no right to demand that all of us dictate that our lives are subject to the whims of criminals. And anyone who will not act in their own self-defense, yet expects others to come to their aid simply because it is "their job", hold a point of view that is, at best, morally bankrupt.
I urge everyone here to read Jeff's Snyder's excellent book "Nation of Cowards". This collection of essays goes far deeper than the mere "right to own guns", and cuts to the ethical quick of the ideas and philosophies that underly all of our inalienable rights. Once you have read this book, you will never view the "gun debate" or the "gun grabbers" in the same way ever again, nor for that matter, the actions of our government in it's utilitarian desire to strip us of our rights and liberties. The very concepts espoused by the utilitarian viewpoint are a total vote of no-confidence in We The People, and anathema to the very concept of indvidual freedom.

What the hell is that?
I want one too. Anybody got a source?
Typical dumbass liberal kneejerk panty-waist that thinks a gun is gonna jump out of a holster and kill him, without any conscious movement or desire of the owner.
And I don't know anyone that carries a "long-barrelled" .44 mag in a shoulder holster, especially if they are trying to conceal it.
This is just more anti-gun hysteria from the sissy boy journalists that hang on every liberal demonrat words of Gun Control, Inc.
Disgusting.
Consider Vermont and Washington DC. VT has a little over 600,000 inhabitants (96.2% white)and is the only state that allows concealed carry without a ccw permit. DC is more diverse and has about 575,000 people (72.8% minorities) and totally bans handguns. There are 41.8 murders per 100K population in DC and 1.5 in VT. The DC violent crime rate is 1507 and 113 in VT.
It's not the number or caliber of guns that cause crime. It is the number and caliber of people that cause crime. Diversity is not our strength, but guns are our defense.
In the year 2002, elections are no longer about protecting our freedoms. Elections are now about REGAINING freedoms we have already lost. It is up to us to live in 'My America' (or 'Your America), where the Constitution means what it says, and it is our task to ultimately punish those who have stolen our freedom, those democrats, socialists, and muslims who spit on our flag and hate our people because we were born 'free'.
You should meet my Dad, he carried a Army Air Corp issue .45 Colt revolver with a 6" barrel in a shoulder holster.
It was intended for pilots. The issue holster was split all the way down the front and had a spring steel clip that held it in place. My Dad is stocky and could easily carry it under a light jacket.
He 'presented' it one time while working as a construction boss in Philadelphia in the '60s. A black union shop stewart was 'admiring' my Dad's emerald and diamond ring. He cautioned my Dad to be careful one of his brothers didn't take it from him. My Dad told him he wasn't worried about it. He kept pressing it, till my Dad whupped out the Colt. My Dad said his eyes literally bugged out of his head.
His final comment was, "Mr. Rider, you'll have no problems in the city of "Brotherly Love".
HEY! Is that a shot at us slope browed folks with alergies?
