Rick Kaplan ("friend of Bill") was the head of news for CNN at the time; plus there are other inside sources that the networks get access to with the explicit understanding that they are not to release any information directly; call it an embargo, if you will.

The heads up came from the fact that both CNN and fox news, (not on today) introduced a midday show, (night in Bagdad) about a showdown with Saddam....that would tell any TV producer that the events would start soon, because they don't go on a month early, the most two weeks.....

When that was coupled with other reporters doing shows from aircraft carriers, etc........
