The bombing campaign may already have started. It would be just right to slowly ratchet up the air strikes, eventually hitting Iraq nightly, then, on the first new moon after the democrats get crushed in the elections, eliminate the Bathist Party and their favorite madman. The rule of war is: CRUSH THE ENEMY, THEN DISARM THE SURVIVORS. Does anyone doubt this is why the Japanese are one of our best freinds in world affairs today? I happen to believe there are really good people in Iraq, Iraqis, who can make of Iraq as fine a nation as Turkey (well, almost; Turkey has the Turkish people and they are stupendous folks). Time to finish crushing the enemy in Iraq and disarming the survivors. My bet is, the entire ground campaign to seize control will take two weeks, and that only because of the logistical problems dealing with so many Republican Guard prisoners with white flags! The air campaign, counting from three weeks ago, will continue to escalate for another 4 1/2 weeks.
