Teddy Kennedy is arguing against military intervention in Iraq. These words transcribed as he speaks... "As I said earlier, we still don't know the fate, location, or operational capacity of Osama Bin Ladin but we do know that Al Queda is still there and here. But, we don't know when where or how this will happen. CIA director has testified that Al Queda remains a serious threat to our country... even if the Taliban out of power.. Afghanistan is still fragile... our reconstruction effort is halting and inadequate...
Some operatives have faded into the woodwork...Karzai is still struggling... Pakistan is far from certain...
United Nations is far from convinced

Evidently the reason the Democrats demanded that Bush debate this issue was so they could make these speeches.
Oh, he's saying the Congress should wait until the U.N. tries to get into Iraq before they authorize force!

Dear God in Heaven, I pray that the American people see through this. We certainly can't see around it.

Kennedy quote: but to maintain the credibility the President must follow the logic of his own argument...before we go to war, we should permit the international community to respond
So this should be the first aim of our policy, to get UN inspectors back into Iraq. I hope that the UN Security Council will pass a new resolution... set a short timetable with inspections occuring before the end of October...no delaying tactics should be tolerated...
The resolution should authorize use of force if the inspectors ... blah blah blah... "
This is just a joke... Kennedy is putting our nation in a subservient position to the UN and Iraq's interests. What a moron!

I'm so mad I'm spitting nails. Thanks for the comment that put's this all in perspective :)

This is pretty series. He will be played more than gore and daschle - his views represent the hopes and dreams/aspirations of most reports, newswhores. He is calling the administration on the basic facts - IRAQ IS AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BE PART OF THE WAR ON TERROR.
Bush better have ammo left to fire back. It's been my contention all along that they have some major Al-Qaeda/Iraq aces in the hole but here's Kennedy saying - I've seen it all and there's NOTHING. Not a little, not some unconfirmed yada, but NOTHING. Now I'm a little scared since most people will believe what the news spouts and they will SPURT this.
I pray Rummy, Bush, Cheney, Rice, Blair, Ari have a counterattack on this - right away or this will tear apart our efforts to defend ourselves. An we might end up nuked, anyway.

Every time I see and hear this guy I rethink my position against abortion and think - gee, I wonder what our world would be like if all the liberal states had legal abortion way back when? Maybe this guy wouldn't be here. :-)

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THESE DEMOCRATS ARE SIDING WITH SADDAM HUSSEIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been calling the offices of several "conservative" Democrat Senators this morning.
The WIN-WIN for the Democrats is a simple plan.........
Back the President 100% and intimidate Saddam Hussein into exile without firing a shot.
It will work!
Kennedy is worse than pathetic.
Has he not learned anything about war and peace and human nature in his many years?
President Bush has smoked out the REAL enemies of America - the liberal Democrats.
And he's got them on the run.
Their only chance of holding onto the Senate is to back the President!
To: bonesmccoy
Actually, odious creature that he is, Kennedy is doing a much better job, and being much smarter, than either Dasshole or Goron. (No, I DON'T agree with him.)

Tedddy Kennedy "If PM Blair is correct, what kind of sense does it make to put our soldiers in that kind of danger"
WHHATTTT???? Fox and CNN just cut the speech... CSPAN still has it.
To: BlueAngel
Exactly. They gut the military, render the CIA impotent, open the borders so more new dem voters can get in, and then complain that the country is at risk. Positively shameless!
To: sam_paine
IMO. He is not that strong against the war, not as strong as he could be. Could be he is really for the war and doing this for elections, but needs to switch back right afterward. Also Teddy and GW are buddies. Then again I hope the Demo's are imploding so fast that he is keeping his options open so he can switch parties. After all their is not a nickles worth of differance in his politics and a country club Republican.
To: Petronski
Senator Kennedy, your pants are over here!
To: alnick
***Dear God in Heaven, I pray that the American people see through this.***
Amen, alnick. Amen.
