Teddy Kennedy is arguing against military intervention in Iraq. These words transcribed as he speaks... "As I said earlier, we still don't know the fate, location, or operational capacity of Osama Bin Ladin but we do know that Al Queda is still there and here. But, we don't know when where or how this will happen. CIA director has testified that Al Queda remains a serious threat to our country... even if the Taliban out of power.. Afghanistan is still fragile... our reconstruction effort is halting and inadequate...
Some operatives have faded into the woodwork...Karzai is still struggling... Pakistan is far from certain...
United Nations is far from convinced
Barbara, you can go ahead with that nose job now...
There is nothing more pathetic than this though....
DETAILS OF STREISAND'S PERFORMANCE FOR DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSIONAL CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE FUNDRAISER REVEALED
(updated 9-24-02)
Barbra Streisand's performance next Sunday for the Democratic National Gala concert will be more than twice as long as her performance two years ago headlining a Gore presidential fundraiser at which Streisand helped generate over $5,000,000 in funds, the Democratic Party's largest hard money event ever, it was revealed by David Foster, producer of the upcoming event.
"Barbra's passionate belief in the importance of the Democratic Party's regaining control of the House of Representatives is so deep that she has decided to sing three times as many songs as was originally planned," Foster stated. "One of these will be a political parody that will raise a few eyebrows."
Streisand, he pointed out, has previously assisted Democratic efforts to regain congressional control, notably during the 1986 campaign, for which her One Voice Concert raised millions of dollars to fund the party's successful effort to retake the Senate. Five of the six candidates endorsed in that campaign were elected, Foster observed.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is beneficiary of the Sunday September 29th concert which will be held at 7:30pm at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California.
She apparently thinks her own special interest are above those she mentions in her memo above.
"While the Republicans are shouting about the Democrats special interests, why are the Democrats not saying the same about the Republicans? How can we ignore the obvious influence on the Bush Administration of such special interests as the oil industry, the chemical companies, the logging industry, the defense contractors, the mining industry, and the automobile industry, just to name a few? Many of these industries, run by big Republican donors and insiders, clearly have much to gain if we go to war against Iraq. Barbra urges the Democrats to publicly convey this message to the American people".
Re: Absurb/d... tanks I abbreciate it! (LOL)
Heres what I said to both Patti Murray and Maria Cantwell, our Washington State Senators, the two leading lights for "Senate Lightweight of the Year":
Dear Senator Murray:
I am profoundly disapointed and dismayed at the stand the Democrat Party leadership is taking on Iraq. Gore, Daschel and Kennedy have been less than clear in the logic of their opposition to the President's insistance on the disarmament of Iraq.
Gore's speech was befuddled equivication. Daschel took Bush's comments on opposition to the Homeland Security legislation out of context in an attempt to divide the nation on Iraq. Kennedy says that if we attack Saddam may use his WMD. What will he use if we wait Senator?
I question the wisdom of waiting; Saddam will only get more horrific weapons as time passes. We know form past experience in Iraq that inspections are unworkable half-measures at best.
Now we have Jim McDermott in Iraq siding with the dictator Saddam and saying that Bush would intentionally mislead the nation into war. This behavior is bordering on that of Jane Fonda in the Vietnam War. Perhaps more accurately, they reflect the actions of Joseph Kennedy in supporting Hitler and the Nazi's prior to WWII. McDermott should be censured by the Democratic Party.
I feel strongly that these leaders are on the wrong path: our position shoud be for the protection of America against the forces of terror - of which Saddam has been a lynchpin for many years. We must forstall his next logical step - which is both nuclear and action in concert with al Qaeda.
Sincerely: Name Address Phone"
Spell check woudda not shown up Daschel as Daschle. I can't spell - he can't reason. I'll settle for my affliction any day!
Thanks for the correction...you are right of course.
